Stephen King comments on Trump and Epstein files, makes striking claim about American public

Stephen King has used social media to speculate that Donald Trump might not have become president if the Epstein files had been disclosed earlier.

In 2019, Jeffrey Epstein faced charges related to sex trafficking. Tragically, he was discovered dead in his Manhattan cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center that same year while awaiting trial.

Recently, the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee made emails public as part of their investigation into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Trump’s name surfaced multiple times in exchanges between Epstein and Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.

Trump has consistently claimed he had no knowledge of Epstein’s illicit activities.

Stephen King, a prominent critic of the former US president, voiced a strong opinion on X regarding the American public.

Stephen King is not Trump

The acclaimed novelist wrote: “The American public has grown numb to sexual crimes. If the Epstein business had come out against Trump in 1985, even 2005, Donny J would be gone like Enron.”

In a prior tweet, King questioned: “Look, it’s pretty simple: If the Epstein files don’t incriminate Trump, why won’t he release them?”

Interestingly, Trump recently expressed a change in stance, urging for the Epstein files to be made public and encouraging Republicans in Congress to vote for their release.

On Truth Social, Trump stated: “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide.

“And it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown.'”

In his extensive message, he added: “The House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to, I DON’T CARE! All I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT, which is the Economy, ‘Affordability’.

Trump

“Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and, if the Democrats had anything, they would have released it before our Landslide Election Victory. Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being ‘used’, and we can’t let that happen.”

Following the release of emails mentioning Trump, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded with a statement: “The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

“The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions.

“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.

“These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”
