The United Nations has officially endorsed Donald Trump’s proposal to resolve the Gaza conflict after a vote on Monday.
The resolution, supported by the United States, aims to end the conflict in Gaza and establish an international stabilization force. This initiative originated from a 20-page peace plan put forward by President Trump, described by Ambassador Mike Waltz as a solution to the dire situation in Gaza, which he referred to as ‘hell on Earth.’
In his address to the UN Security Council, Waltz depicted Gaza as “a hell on earth” following two years of strife. He argued that the resolution could transform “rubble where schools once stood” into “a path to peace.”
The resolution passed with a 14 – 0 vote, with only two countries abstaining, including Russia.
The peace plan was created in collaboration with several countries, including Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
Its objective is to form a multinational stabilization force to secure Gaza, manage demilitarization, and protect civilians during Israel’s phased withdrawal from the region.

The proposals suggest that many peacekeepers will originate from Muslim-majority countries such as Indonesia and Azerbaijan.
During his UN speech, Waltz commended Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff for their contributions to the agreement, highlighting the importance of negotiating a ceasefire and securing the release of 45 hostages held by Hamas.
He also reaffirmed the US’s dedication to facilitating peace, stating: “This resolution charts a path for Palestinian self-determination after the Palestinian Authority completes key reforms.
“It dismantles Hamas’s grip and ensures Gaza rises free from terror’s shadow — prosperous and secure.”
The implementation of the peace plan will be overseen by a Board of Peace, which is expected to be led by Trump along with other senior officials.

This board will be responsible for overseeing humanitarian aid, reconstruction, and supporting a technocratic Palestinian committee in charge of daily administration while the Palestinian Authority completes its reforms.
The stabilization force will also work to ‘dismantle terrorist infrastructure, decommission weapons, and maintain the safety of Palestinian civilians.’
Following the UN’s approval, Donald Trump expressed his gratitude on Truth Social, stating: “Congratulations to the World on the incredible Vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the BOARD OF PEACE, which will be chaired by me, and include the most powerful and respected Leaders throughout the World.
“This will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the History of the United Nations, will lead to further Peace all over the World, and is a moment of true Historic proportion! Thank you to the United Nations, and all of the Countries on the U.N. Security Council, China, Russia, France, The United Kingdom, Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, South Korea, Pakistan, Panama, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, and Somalia.
“Also thank you to those Countries that weren’t on this Committee, but strongly backed the effort, including Qatar, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkiye, and Jordan. The members of the Board, and many more exciting announcements, will be made in the coming weeks.”
