Kim Kardashian has responded bluntly to the backlash over her daughter’s unconventional piercing.
These days, piercings are a growing trend, with individuals choosing to adorn various parts of their bodies. Beyond just ears, nose and septum piercings have become more commonplace, along with those on the lips or eyebrows.
Recently, North West, Kim Kardashian’s 12-year-old daughter, sparked debate by choosing a piercing spot that’s less common compared to ears or even a nose.
Despite some fans expressing their shock and disapproval of the piercing, Kardashian offered a brief two-word response.
In a TikTok video, a fan expressed their dismay, noting how the piercing was ‘breaking my heart’ when they first saw it.

North West has opted for a finger piercing, with a bar placed through the skin just below the knuckle on her middle finger, featuring a small silver ball on each end.
This type of piercing is referred to as a ‘dermal piercing’—a small implant secured beneath the skin, potentially placed on any body part.
As per Healthline, dermal piercings come with a ‘high risk of complications’ such as infection, scarring, displacement, rejection, tissue damage, and hypergranulation.
The TikTok video, which has amassed over 694,000 views, was captioned: “north west getting a finger piercing is breaking my heart, just me?”
Many viewers in the comments echoed this sentiment.
One comment highlighted the distinction from standard ear piercings, stating, “i get ear piercings but this is actually crazy.”
Another comment expressed concern about the long-term impacts of such a decision on a young child.
“Everyone saying why – she’s literally 12 lol she’s a child and that’s a pretty permanent decision.”
In an interesting twist, the TikTok account shared by Kim and North addressed the video with a succinct two-word statement, seemingly trying to quell the controversy.
They simply said: “it’s okay.”

On the other hand, some commenters defended the choice of piercing, as well as Kim Kardashian’s decision to allow it.
One supporter wrote, “She wanted the peircing [sic] and Kim let her pls stop Kim’s just trying to let her kids expresss [sic] themselves.”
Another even suggested critics were ‘jealous’ because they were not permitted such freedoms by their own parents.
“It’s such a non-issue,” they commented. “I’m starting to think ya’ll are just jealous your parents made you wait before getting piercings. Lol like literally what’s the problem.”
