Trump’s harsh response to Jimmy Kimmel and ABC ‘fake news’ following host’s criticism

Donald Trump and Jimmy Kimmel continue to engage in a public feud, with no signs of reconciliation in sight.

In September, Kimmel faced backlash after making contentious comments about the late Charlie Kirk and the president’s reaction to his death.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel remarked at the time.

He also criticized Trump, noting that when questioned about his feelings following Kirk’s assassination, the president shifted the topic to his White House renovations.

These remarks led to Kimmel’s show being temporarily pulled from the air, a move Trump supported.

The suspension of Kimmel’s show led to a nationwide response, prompting its swift return to the airwaves.

Despite the controversy, Kimmel has continued to critique Trump, notably mocking him when he missed out on the Nobel Peace Prize.

Recently, Kimmel commented on the uproar following Trump’s derogatory comment towards a female reporter, whom he called ‘piggy’.

Kimmel highlighted that Trump ‘loses his mind’ when questioned about Jeffrey Epstein, adding: “He called her piggy. He said ‘Quiet, piggy’ to a reporter and it barely made the news.

“If a man spoke like that to a female coworker in a workplace harassment training video, you’d go, ‘Ah, that’s over the top. Nobody would do that’.”

Trump, in response to Kimmel’s criticism, expressed his displeasure on Truth Social, saying: “Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!”

Given the strong reaction to Kimmel’s previous removal, it seems unlikely that ABC will take similar action again.

Trump has not directly addressed the ‘piggy’ controversy, but the White House did release a statement regarding the incident.

A White House representative told People: “This reporter behaved in an inappropriate and unprofessional way towards her colleagues on the plane.

“If you’re going to give it, you have to be able to take.”
