Kris Jenner had an unexpected response when the joke was made that O.J. Simpson could potentially be Khloé Kardashian’s ‘real dad’.
In 1994, O.J. Simpson faced trial for the murders of Ron Goldman and his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. This case was famously referred to as the ‘trial of the century’.
Although Simpson was acquitted in the criminal case, he was found liable for the wrongful deaths in a subsequent civil trial initiated by the victims’ families.
The civil court jury awarded the families $33.5 million in damages after a lengthy seven-week trial, although much of this award went unrecovered.
Robert Kardashian Sr, Jenner’s former husband, was notably part of Simpson’s legal defense, maintaining a friendship with the family throughout.
While it is widely held that Kardashian Sr is Khloé’s father, rumors have circulated suggesting Simpson might be her ‘real dad’.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians that aired this week, Kim Kardashian surprised Khloé with their father’s bible, a gift he had once given to Simpson.
Kim had to place an anonymous bid to acquire the item, prompting Khloé to express her irritation, saying: “What a******* not to just give it to us. It’s proven he’s our dad — just give it to us.”
Kim then alluded to the longstanding rumor about Simpson, quipping: “Well, it’s questionable between which one – between O.J. and dad.”
Khloé concurred, noting that ‘either one’ could be considered their father.
Kim suggested that Khloé deserved the bible since it was passed down from ‘both’ Simpson and Kardashian Sr.
“Both of my dads – give it to me!” Khloé echoed.
During this exchange, Kris Jenner remained quiet, absorbed in her phone. Later, at their Palm Springs residence, another comment regarding Simpson surfaced.
When Kylie Jenner arrived, she looked through the bible and questioned if the handwriting was Robert’s. Khloé replied, “No, that’s my other dad’s – O.J.’s.”
“Oh, that’s scary,” Kylie commented, adding, “Sorry.”
Kris Jenner previously dismissed rumors of an affair with Simpson during a 2019 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“They printed a story that I was sleeping with O.J.,” Jenner stated. “That f****** piece of s***. It’s really kind of pathetic.”
She added: “After 25 years, you’d think it just wouldn’t be a thing. It’s just lie after lie after lie after lie, and it’s only so much that one human being can take. I’m so over stupid rumors of things that never happened. I think it’s just really wrong.”
