Kim Kardashian has opened up about a concerning diagnosis she received involving a brain aneurysm.
In the most recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim shared the unsettling news with her sister, Kourtney Kardashian. Kim, 45, had recently had a ‘prenuvo scan’, a comprehensive MRI scan designed for early detection, during a hospital visit.
“I did a Prenuvo scan, and they called me today, and they’re like, ‘Everything looks great. But you have an aneurysm in your brain,” Kim explained to Kourtney. “They’re like, ‘It’s been there for like years. It was here a few years ago’.”
The Cleveland Clinic describes a brain aneurysm as a weakened section in a blood vessel in or around the brain. While they are often small and not harmful, if a brain aneurysm ruptures, it can become life-threatening.

Following this appointment, the All’s Fair star reached out to a brain surgeon, who advised her to come in for further examination based on her scans.
“I sent him a picture of it, and he was like, ‘I want you to come in for all this imaging’,” Kim recounted. “And then I asked, I was like, ‘Can I wait? ‘Cause what makes it rupture?’ And they’re like, ‘Just stress’.”
The Cleveland Clinic notes that stress can lead to a rupture, along with sudden bursts of anger or strong emotions.
Kim’s life is filled with stressors, from preparing for a demanding law exam and filming reality shows to managing businesses and raising her four children with her ex-husband, Kanye West.
She also mentioned developing hives due to the stress of her studies.
Kourtney voiced her concern for Kim, stating in her confessional: “I’m definitely worried about Kim. She has so much going on between work and her four kids, that I don’t want her to have an aneurysm, of course.”

Kim recently shared an emotional video after learning she did not pass the California bar exam, which added to her stress.
Despite revealing her aneurysm condition in the season 7 premiere, Kim reassured fans during an appearance on Good Morning America, mentioning that ‘everything works out’ and encouraging viewers to ‘tune in’.
“You’ll see in the next episode, I did go and get a Prenuvo scan. And I had to end up going and getting tons of other brain scans at Cedars[-Sinai] with all the team,” she said.
“It’s just a good measure to go. Make sure that you always check everything. Health is wealth, and you just have to be careful with everything that you do.”
