Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s partner has released a statement in support following her unexpected resignation.
Brian Glenn, the Chief White House Correspondent for the pro-Trump network Real America’s Voice, has consistently backed his partner of two years amid her controversial relationship with the president. He joined Greene’s daughter in commending the two-term representative.
In her resignation announcement, Greene highlighted her accomplishments on key Republican issues such as gun rights and abortion, while also voicing her dissatisfaction with the current party leadership. However, it seems that Trump’s withdrawal of support was the deciding factor in her choice to step away from active politics.
“I have too much self respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms,” she stated.

Without the endorsement of the figure who had significantly influenced her political trajectory, Greene declared her intention to step down from her congressional role on January 5, 2026.
In response to her 10-minute resignation speech, Glenn expressed admiration for the 51-year-old Georgia congresswoman on X, saying: “You never allowed the political industrial complex to break you. No one fought for America harder than you.”
Greene’s daughter, Lauren Greene Sanders, echoed these sentiments, describing her mother as a ‘one of a kind congresswoman’. She added: “Forever will be so proud of my mom. 110% on America First, American Only.”
Notably, neither Glenn nor Greene’s daughter mentioned the president, who was a significant influence in Greene’s political career.
Greene has reported receiving numerous death threats since Trump labeled her a ‘traitor’ for her support of releasing confidential documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, documents that Trump has now agreed to release.
When questioned by the press, Trump seemed unconcerned by the departure of his former ally, referring to it as ‘great news’.
“Nah, it doesn’t matter, you know but I think it’s great. I think she should be happy,” Trump told ABC’s Rachel Scott during a phone-in. He added: “I think it’s great news for the country. It’s great.”
Throughout her separation from the MAGA leadership, Greene’s daughter and boyfriend have stood by her side, despite their own aspirations within right-wing circles.
Despite his role with a Trump-affiliated network, Glenn publicly voiced his support after Trump criticized Greene as a ‘traitor’, declaring: “I love this woman. I love this country. God bless America.”
The couple began their relationship in 2023, shortly after both finalized their divorces from previous partners.
Meanwhile, Greene’s daughter Lauren has been fervently defending her mother, labeling her detractors as ‘fake MAGA’.
According to the Daily Mail, she responded to a critic on social media: “Funny how you have MAGA in your bio and MAGA means ‘Make America Great Again,’ yet here you are calling her a traitor, even though she [is] one of the real one[s] who are actually trying to make America great again by unapologetically fighting for us, the American citizens, by being America First.”
