Throughout the years, various diets such as keto and the carnivore diet have gained attention, but one man’s unique eating style could leave many astounded.
Weston, residing in Nebraska, USA, has adhered to a raw meat-based diet for several years.
During an appearance on ITV This Morning with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, alongside Dr. Zoe Williams, Weston revealed his daily consumption of two pounds of uncooked meat.
From liver to chicken, Weston prefers all his meats in their raw form.
Explaining his reasoning, he stated, “I started having some health issues in my late 20s, early 30s and… skin problems and brain fog and fatigue… and I decided to take matters in my own hands and go ahead and address it with diet.”

Weston elaborated further, saying: “It started with going gluten-free… and I noticed a huge increase in my health by just cutting out gluten.”
Subsequently, he ventured into the carnivore diet, which is often viewed with skepticism by health professionals.
Ultimately, he decided to stop cooking his food entirely, claiming it made him feel better almost immediately.
Recalling his initial experience with raw food, which was a rib eye steak, Weston mentioned: “I had a little bit of a gag reflex because it was such a new texture and flavor. It took a while for my palette to adjust to the bland taste.”
Now, Weston enjoys the flavors, admitting, “I actually really enjoy the flavors now.”
Among the most surprising raw foods he consumes is chicken, from which he claims he has never contracted Salmonella.
While consuming some raw foods like sushi is somewhat common, medical experts advise against a completely raw meat diet, especially when it includes chicken and pork.

Dr. Zoe highlighted CDC data, noting, “In America, 48 million people every year end up getting food-borne illnesses.”
She listed several such diseases, including Salmonella, Campylobacter, Hepatitis A, and parasitic infections.
While acknowledging Weston’s claims of improved health, Dr. Zoe mentioned that both the US and UK diets are often dominated by ultra-processed foods.
Although some people turn to carnivore or vegan diets, Dr. Zoe suggests removing ultra-processed foods for a healthier choice.
According to Healthline, “any potential benefits of eating raw meat are likely outweighed by the higher risk of contracting a foodborne illness.” The site further explains that there is little evidence suggesting raw meat is nutritionally superior.
Additionally, anthropologists have noted that cooking food played a role in human evolution by breaking down proteins, aiding digestion.
