Police are currently investigating the tragic death of a teenage girl whose body was discovered in the trunk of a vehicle owned by musician D4vd. The singer, who is 20 years old, was on tour when Celeste Rivas Hernande was found inside the vehicle in September.
Following this shocking discovery, various rumors emerged on social media regarding the incident, including claims that Hernandez was found decapitated and frozen.
A captain with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has since released a statement to clarify the details surrounding the case, which is now being treated as a homicide.
These clarifications specifically address the misinformation about the state of Hernandez’s body at the time it was found, which has been widely shared online.

LAPD Captain Scot Williams, who is the commanding officer of the Robbery-Homicide Division, addressed these rumors while speaking with PEOPLE. Williams firmly denied the claims that Hernandez was decapitated and frozen.
He stated: “Celeste’s body was not frozen. She was not decapitated. The whole frozen thing doesn’t even make sense. Her body was in the car for weeks.”
Williams further explained that it was impossible for Hernandez to have been frozen.
“Even if she had been frozen solid when she was put in the car (which there is NO evidence to suggest she was), five or more weeks in the trunk of a car in sweltering heat in the middle of summer would not have resulted in a partially frozen body being discovered on September 8th.”

The vehicle in which Miss Hernandez was discovered had been abandoned and was found by staff at a car impound after the vehicle was towed away.
The staff at the impound made the grim discovery after detecting a foul odor emanating from the car.
On November 24, the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner declared they had received a court order from the LAPD to place a security alert on Hernandez’s case.
“No records or details associated with the case, including the cause and manner of death and Medical Examiner report, can be released or posted on the website until further notice,” stated the medical examiner.
“The Department understands the public’s interest in this case and remains committed to transparency when possible. Information will be made available once the court order is lifted.”
D4vd, who has yet to publicly comment on the investigation, has not been charged with any crime. His representatives have confirmed he is cooperating with the police.
