Fans of music are eagerly trying to decipher Jessie J’s new song.
The artist is making a comeback with new music after a long hiatus, and her album Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time is set to drop tomorrow (Friday, November 28).
There’s one song in particular that’s sparking conversation, titled ‘Threw It Away’.
Earlier this week in London, Jessie J held a listening party where she introduced this track to a select audience. Many attendees believe the song hints at her past relationship with Channing Tatum. The two were in an on-again, off-again relationship from 2018 to 2020.
The Sun notes that the 37-year-old singer appears to touch upon the reasons for their split from five years ago in the lyrics.

The lyrics state: “I put my heart out on the table, that’s when it got uncomfortable. But oh that karma is gonna come one day, ’cause I gave you my love and you threw it away.”
Further along in the song, she adds: “Don’t you dare rewrite the story. I’m the beauty, you’re the beast.”
Ouch.
Though she doesn’t mention Tatum directly, she did prompt listeners to connect the dots themselves.
When introducing ‘Threw It Away’, the ‘Price Tag’ singer reportedly said: “This next song I wrote in 2020 with Ryan Tedder, and you can figure out who I was dating.”
Efforts have been made to reach out to Tatum’s representative for comment.

Jessie J’s newest music follows her recent battle with breast cancer. She revealed over the summer that she had been diagnosed with the illness.
She has already undergone one surgery and is expected to have another.
In August, the mother-of-one expressed: “Some of you may know, some of you may not know, but I had breast cancer surgery 11 weeks ago today and the last show I did, I had no idea what was going to happen – and I’m still very much in the recovery process.”
She performed for the first time after her surgery just a month later, expressing to the audience that ‘music is a healer’.
“I don’t know about you guys, but for me, music is a healer,” Jessie J reflected. “Music is the thing that keeps me wanting to wake up in the morning and just makes me excited about life, and I’m grateful that I can make music that can give other people something that they might need on a hard day or a good day.”
