Globetrotting Man Shares His Favorite Destination After Visiting Every Country

By the age of 28, Henrik Jeppesen, a remarkable adventurer from Thy in northwest Jutland, Denmark, had achieved an extraordinary feat: visiting every country in the world.

Jeppesen has explored an incredible 2,000 destinations across the globe. This extensive journey spanned approximately 3,000 days, during which he impressively managed to spend only between $60,000 to $80,000, averaging just $20 to $25 per day.

His travel blog’s success resulted in sponsorships from airlines and complimentary hotel stays, which likely contributed to the affordability of his travels.

Recently, Henrik shared his favorite city in Europe, which is Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

“It’s very much overlooked for people coming to Europe, and many people who have travelled have never been there,” he told The Mirror, noting that many travelers tend to visit cities like London, Rome, Paris, and Berlin, often overlooking Tallinn.

Henrik explained his affinity for Tallinn, saying, “First and foremost, it’s a lot cheaper than the cities I mentioned; in comparison, it’s fantastic value. Then you have the Old Town, which I think is the best old town in the entire world, and I’ve travelled a lot.”

“You can step out the door, and it’s like you’re stepping into a new world with well-preserved old buildings and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else I’ve been,” he added.

Henrik noted the affordability of Tallinn, mentioning he enjoyed lunch for just €5 at Rataskaevu 16 multiple times during his stay.

While Tallinn is his top European city, Henrik’s favorite city worldwide is Cape Town, South Africa.

Henrik wrote on his website, “My favorite city in the world is Cape Town, and my favorite region is the Western Cape.”

“I have also experienced three great train journeys, The Blue Train, Rovos Rail and the Shongololo Express, which were all very impressive,” he shared.

He further described his adventures: “I have experienced extraordinary safari experiences in Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands, Madikwe, and Welgevoden and had some of the most exciting road trips in [South Africa].”

Cape Town is also home to one of Henrik’s favorite restaurants, The Test Kitchen, which boasts a 4.6/5 rating on Tripadvisor.

Another seasoned traveler, Karl Bushby, has been journeying the world without any form of transport for nearly three decades, citing Colombia, Chile, and Mexico as his favorite destinations over the past 27 years.
