Melania Trump has revealed her upcoming campaign for next year, which has taken her husband by surprise.
The First Lady is not often seen in public, mostly appearing at significant events alongside President Donald Trump.
Despite her limited public presence, the 55-year-old former model is deeply committed to issues affecting young people, especially the dangers they encounter online, and she occasionally speaks to raise awareness.
At the Congressional Ball on Thursday (December 11), Melania took the opportunity to speak about her new initiative, announcing her plans to introduce a new law next year following its success in 2025.
Simultaneously, the 79-year-old President seemed completely unaware of her new initiative.
“I hope you will be excited to support my new legislative initiative in 2026,” Melania stated. “Some of you already know about it, because it is already in the works.”

Later, Trump confessed he was hearing about it for the ‘first time’ at that moment.
“The only thing I can tell you,” Trump said, “I know one thing for sure: It is going to be great for children. I don’t know what it is she’s doing, but it’s going to be great for children, because she loves children. If she puts it out, it’ll be maybe unanimous again or whatever that was. But very close.”
This announcement follows Melania’s earlier appeal to lawmakers in March to address revenge porn by making it a federal offense.
While speaking at Capitol Hill, she advocated for a bipartisan bill to tackle the issue of non-consensual pornography and AI-generated intimate images shared online.
The First Lady expressed concerns that artificial intelligence is being used to create ‘deepfake’ porn without victims’ consent, creating a challenging online environment for young people.
Her proposed legislation, the Take It Down bill, aims to criminalize the creation and distribution of such images and mandate technology companies to remove the content within 48 hours.
Revisiting the topic in her address to Congress this week, she said: “As the president said, our greatest triumph in the First Lady office in 2025 is the Take It Down Act. I appreciate all of your support, I appreciate your bipartisan, overwhelmingly bipartisan, support, across the House and the Senate,” she continued, extending her gratitude to the speaker, Mike Johnson.
President Trump had endorsed the Take It Down Act back in May, recognizing it as one of the first major legislative achievements passed by Congress.
The bill, sponsored by Republican Senator Ted Cruz from Texas, was approved unanimously by the Senate. The House passed it with a 409-2 vote before it reached Trump’s desk for final endorsement.
During the signing ceremony, Trump handed the pen to Melania, inviting her to sign the bill herself, acknowledging her role in its success. “America is blessed to have such a dedicated and compassionate first lady,” he added.
Melania’s recent address to Congress coincides with the launch of her production company, Muse Films, which happened a few weeks ago. Additionally, a documentary titled Melania, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the famous family, is scheduled for release in theaters on January 30.
The documentary has been in production since November 2024 and covers the Trumps’ move to the White House earlier this year.
