Mother of Influencer Brie Bird Shares Heartbreaking Last Moments Before Her Passing at Age 9

Brie Bird’s mother shared the heartbreaking details of her nine-year-old daughter’s last moments before succumbing to stage-four cancer.

Brie, an influencer with over 650,000 followers on social media, was initially diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in 2020.

Neuroblastoma is a rare form of cancer primarily affecting children under five, originating in nerve cells known as neuroblasts, as explained by Cancer Research UK.

After her diagnosis, Brie chronicled her battle with the illness, even announcing in 2022 that she was cancer-free. Unfortunately, in January 2024, her family revealed that the cancer had returned. Brie passed away at the age of nine on December 11. Her family shared an Instagram tribute stating, “You are the miracle! Your purpose on earth was fulfilled, and it was the most sacred privilege to escort you home.

“You brought people to Christ, you showed the world that God is good, and your light shined to all corners of the earth. We love you for eternity!”

Her grieving family expressed their commitment to continue sharing her story, saying, “Please come visit us often. Your bedroom door is always open, and we’ll leave the playroom light on.”

The tribute added: “You did it Brielle, you did everything with grace! I can only imagine the incredible reunion, and I’m so jealous; but I know you ran straight to Jesus.

“Thank you for being an inspiration to so many.”

Brie’s mother, Kendra, took to social media to recount the poignant yet cherished final moments shared with her daughter.

“One week ago from this very moment, we were having regular conversations,” she wrote. “We talked about what finishing touches you were going to make on your Christmas list, why Annie was an orphan (since we watched it the night before), and sleeping in your room on Christmas Eve. An hour later, you had fallen asleep, and we never heard your voice again.”

Kendra described how she and Brie’s father sat with her as her ‘body transitioned,’ telling her she is ‘loved’ and ‘amazing’.

“Brielle, our home will never feel the same. We will continue to dance in your honor, we will always serve those around us, and we will tell the world about the goodness of God,” Kendra concluded, acknowledging, “Though I don’t agree with or understand His plan right now, we do know that you are no longer in a broken body, and finally able to run; run straight to Jesus.”
