Here’s a rundown of the alleged tensions between David and Victoria Beckham and their eldest son Brooklyn, following Cruz Beckham’s comments on the matter.
The Beckham family, including Victoria, David, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, have not been seen together publicly since December 2024 during the holiday season.
Reports suggest that the discord possibly started earlier, around 2022, when Brooklyn married American actress Nicola Peltz. Victoria reportedly wanted to be involved in the wedding dress selection due to her background in fashion.
A source shared with PEOPLE that Victoria offered to design Nicola’s wedding dress, and Nicola supposedly expressed her excitement, calling it an ‘honor’ to wear one of Victoria’s originals.
Conversely, another source close to the family mentioned: “Nicola was painted as a brat for not wearing Victoria Beckham at the wedding. She’d gone to a ton of Victoria Beckham fashion shows and events in Victoria’s clothing. She even wore Victoria Beckham to her Lola movie premiere.”
There are varying reports on this issue, with a second insider telling the outlet that the claims were exaggerated and aimed at portraying Nicola as a victim.
David Beckham marked his 50th birthday earlier this year, but Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from the extravagant celebration.
Sources informed The Mirror that David felt ‘hurt’ by their absence. Meanwhile, PEOPLE reported that the couple skipped the event because of Romeo’s partner, Kim Turnball, who had past connections with Brooklyn.
“Brooklyn didn’t want to be in the same room as her, and he told his dad that,” a source revealed. “But David chose to have Kim there over Nicola.”
Again, there are conflicting stories, with Cruz denying on Instagram that Brooklyn and Kim had ever been involved romantically.
