Authorities are searching for a 19-year-old girl who did not return home after going for a walk on Christmas Eve.
On the morning of December 24, Camila Mendoza Olmos left her residence in San Antonio, Texas, around 7am for her routine morning stroll.
When Camila didn’t return in a timely manner, her mother, Rosario Olmos, became worried. She attempted to call Camila’s cellphone, only to discover that the 19-year-old had left the device at home and it was turned off.
Rosario decided to search on foot, retracing the route Camila typically took, but there was no sign of her daughter.
Rosario also reached out to Camila’s father and boyfriend, who confirmed they had not been in contact with the teenager. Concerned, Rosario filed a missing person’s report with the local police.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement reported by Fox News: “Camila’s mother mentioned that Camila usually takes a morning walk, but became alarmed when Camila did not return in the expected time frame.
“Surveillance footage from that morning shows an unidentified person, thought to be Camila, searching inside her car for an unknown item. The video ends shortly after.
“It appears she left the premises on foot, as her vehicle was left behind. The only items known to be with her are her car key and possibly her driver’s license.”
Camila was last observed wearing a black hoodie, baby blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.
Although it was regular for Camila to walk, her friend Isabela informed KSAT that she would typically be on the phone with someone during her walk.

“It’s very unusual,” she remarked. “This isn’t like her. She’s always been the one to check up on us, asking, ‘why aren’t you doing this?’ She made sure her phone was always charged.”
Echoing these feelings, another friend, Camila Estrella, commented: “We’re always on the phone together when she goes for a walk.”
Camila’s father, Alfonso Mendoza, stated that over 100 people have joined the search for his daughter. Some relatives even traveled 17 hours from California to assist.
In an emotional appeal to Camila, Alfonso expressed: “Please come home. Daddy misses you.”
Anyone with information about Camila’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000.
