The authorities in Texas have provided a recent update and released new footage concerning the disappearance of 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who went missing from outside her residence on Christmas Eve.
Olmos was last seen leaving her home in Bexar County during the early hours of December 24, heading out for her regular morning walk. When she failed to return at the expected time, her family became alarmed and reported her missing.
Sheriff Javier Salazar has indicated that Olmos is in ‘immediate danger.’ Investigators are considering the possibility of kidnapping or abduction as a cause for her disappearance. Federal agencies have joined the search, amid concerns that she may have been trafficked outside of the United States.
Nearly a week after her disappearance, police have released new video footage in an effort to track her initial movements after leaving her home in Texas. This footage is believed to show Olmos, who was wearing white shoes, baby blue pajama bottoms, and a black and baby blue hoodie at the time she was last seen.
The video was recorded by the dashcam of a driver traveling early in the morning and appears to show Olmos walking along Wildhorse Parkway, a short distance from her residence.
The Bexar County Sheriff confirmed this footage as the last known sighting of Olmos. He stated: “On the morning of Wednesday, December 24, 2025, 19-year-old Camila Olmos left her residence in the 11000 block of Caspian Spring on foot. A passing driver traveling on Wildhorse Pkwy that morning captured footage believed to show Camila walking northbound on Wildhorse Pkwy around 7:00 a.m., between Shetland Wind and Caspian Spring.”
Salazar remarked: “This was the best direction of flight that we were able to develop.”
The new video supplements the only other publicly available evidence regarding Olmos’ actions after leaving her home, which is security footage showing her looking through the back of her car before departing.
She left without her phone and is thought to have only her car keys and possibly her driver’s license with her.
Search efforts are ongoing in the area surrounding her home, with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security also assisting in the search across the US border to locate her.

Sheriff Salazar emphasized: “We definitely don’t want to miss anything. The ground search is somewhat limited to a couple of square miles. We’re also not ruling out that this case may take us outside the borders of the continental United States.”
Additionally, officials clarified that Olmos had not been detained by ICE agents. The sheriff expressed: “That was a personal concern. So, I had it checked to make sure that there were no stops, no detentions, and that she’s not somewhere in a federal detention facility. That is something we needed to check.”
The reasons behind the teenager’s disappearance remain unclear, with local authorities investigating reports of a recent breakup. However, Olmos’ ex-boyfriend has joined the search and is cooperating with police interviews, with no ‘nefarious’ activity identified thus far.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is appealing to the public for any information regarding Camila Olmos’ movements or current whereabouts.
They urged: “If you commute through this area or have dash cam or home surveillance footage that may have captured Camila — please contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 210-335-6000 or email [email protected].”
