Warning: this article contains spoilers for season 5 of Stranger Things
Stranger Things enthusiasts are not backing down when it comes to spotting any editing blunders or plot inconsistencies in the show’s fifth and final season.
The anticipation for season five of Stranger Things has been building for three years, leading to very high expectations for the concluding episodes.
However, fans have been meticulously analyzing the episodes and have identified a number of supposed ‘mistakes.’ These editing oversights are subtle, yet that hasn’t deterred vigilant Stranger Things viewers from addressing them.
One noticeable error was the appearance of an Under Armour logo on Holly Wheeler’s jacket. The series is set in the late 1980s, while Under Armour was established in 1996, which makes this a chronological error. After this was brought to light, it seems Netflix discreetly corrected the mistake.

This wasn’t the only oversight. Another viewer highlighted an editing slip in a scene featuring Will and Robin via TikTok.
In ‘Chapter Two: The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler’, as Will and Robin explore the woods at night, some viewers noticed an uncharacteristic presence on the ground. The items? Two electric tape scene markers, colored blue and orange.
A TikTok video showcasing this mistake has garnered over a million views and numerous comments. Although it’s a clear oversight, many people have downplayed its significance.
“Y’all looking way too hard just enjoy the show,” commented one person. Another added: “I still love the show guys and clearly understand people make mistakes LOL.”
Additionally, fans have pointed out a few plot inconsistencies in this season, leading them to believe it may have been a bit hurried.

One particular plot gap involves Mr Clarke. Erica enlists the school teacher’s help to construct a tracking device to find Dustin in The Upside Down.
Mr Clarke is eventually informed of the situation, and despite its shocking nature, he remains composed… It’s fair to say that most people would have numerous questions upon discovering a parallel universe being manipulated by a psychic humanoid.
Another plot inconsistency concerns Max and Hopper. Max awakens from her ‘coma’ (actually an 18-month trance) and reunites with her friends in the hospital. Given that the last time Max was fully aware, everyone believed Hopper was dead, her lack of surprise at seeing him alive, as noted by Parade, seems odd.
UNILAD have approached Netflix for comment.
