93% Harlan Coben Film is Ideal Viewing After ‘Bonkers’ New Netflix Mini-Series

Fans of Harlan Coben can now enjoy a highly rated movie adaptation for free, following the success of his thriller mini-series, Run Away.

The newest adaptation of the acclaimed author’s work premiered on Netflix on January 1 and is quickly gaining popularity.

This eight-episode series is based on Coben’s 2019 book of the same title.

The story follows Simon Greene (James Nesbitt), a father whose ordinary life is disrupted when his oldest daughter, Paige (Ellie de Lange), disappears.

His search to find her leads him into a world filled with secrets, violence, and unexpected revelations.

The cast also includes Ruth Jones from Gavin and Stacey, Minnie Driver from Emily in Paris, and Alfred Enoch from How to Get Away with Murder.

The series has already garnered an impressive 86 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

One review described it as ‘bonkers’ and ‘likely to engage viewers,’ though noted: “One can’t help but be left wanting a little more.”

Another review appreciated its ‘twists and turns,’ though mentioned it was ‘often to the point of dizziness.’

“Yet it slides down easily, and the compulsion to stick around and see how it all slots together is hard to resist,” they commented.

If you’ve finished watching Run Away and are craving more from Coben, there’s good news.

Although the author has numerous adaptations on Netflix, you may have missed his ‘well-crafted nail-biter’ movie with a 93 percent rating.

This critically-acclaimed thriller is directed by Guillaume Canet and is based on Coben’s 2001 novel.

The plot follows Dr. Alexandre Beck (François Cluzet), a pediatrician haunted by the murder of his wife Margot (Marie-Josée Croze) eight years ago.

When new evidence emerges near the site of her murder, the case is reopened, and Alex becomes a suspect once more.

The mystery intensifies when Alex receives an anonymous email with a video suggesting Margot may still be alive, pushing him to uncover hidden truths and dangerous secrets.

The film is titled Tell No One.

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes praised the French thriller as ‘ingenious,’ with one noting it as ‘the most Hitchcockian film that Hitchcock never made.’

For those who prefer fast-paced stories, another critic mentioned the film ‘wastes no time’ getting to the core of the plot.

Another review described it as ‘one of the most satisfying book adaptations’ and ‘one of the most fun, perfectly-paced genre films seen in years.’

Another reviewer called it ‘a taut, well-crafted nail-biter that manages to rise above its genre, providing the audience just a little bit more.’
