Demi Moore shares rare insights on early traditions with ex-husband Bruce Willis

Demi Moore recently offered some rare reflections on her past marriage to Bruce Willis, from whom she divorced in 2000.

The famous couple first crossed paths in July 1987 and tied the knot shortly thereafter. By August 1988, Moore had welcomed their first daughter, Rumer, and the couple later expanded their family with two more daughters with the Die Hard star.

While they parted ways in 1998, their divorce wasn’t officially completed until two years later, making their marriage last a total of 13 years.

Despite their separation, Moore and Willis have maintained a positive relationship for the sake of their three children. The Substance actress has even publicly supported Willis’s current wife, Emma, amidst criticism regarding her decision to live separately due to Willis’s health issues.

The family shared the unfortunate news of his diagnosis in February 2023.

Moore usually addresses topics related to family or health when discussing her ex-husband, but on Wednesday evening (January 7), she revealed some seldom-shared details about their marriage.

During a private screening of Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman’s new film Song Sung Blue, Moore engaged in a conversation with Hudson. The movie revolves around a couple performing in a Neil Diamond tribute band.

“This is a little personal thing, but Bruce always had every week, Neil Diamond Day,” the Ghost actress recalled.

The 63-year-old continued to reminisce (via Mail Online): “Watching the movie just kept reminding me of when he would blast Neil Diamond, and I’d say, ‘What’s going on?’

“He said ‘It’s Neil Diamond day!’ and he played Neil throughout the day. He kept on doing that for years. He was a huge Neil fan. And so am I!”

Even though Moore and Willis were married for 13 years, he has been with his second wife, Emma, for even longer. Recently, they celebrated their 18th anniversary as a couple. They began dating in 2007 and married two years later.

On December 31, Emma shared an emotional post on social media, reflecting on the day Willis became her partner.

Accompanying a nostalgic picture with her husband, she wrote: “18 years ago, he became my boyfriend. With one kiss on the top of my head, time stood still. I’m so lucky to know this kind of love.”
