Trump Directs Generals to Develop Greenland Invasion Strategy Following Assertion that US Will Proceed Regardless

According to sources, President Donald Trump has purportedly instructed the Joint Special Operations Command to create an ‘invasion plan for Greenland’.

The Mail on Sunday claims that Trump has asked for a ‘plan’ to be prepared, although several advisors have cautioned against military action.

This development follows the president’s strong reaffirmation of the need for the U.S. to acquire the Arctic territory on Friday (January 9), during a meeting with oil and gas executives concerning the situation in Venezuela.

“We are going to do something on Greenland whether they like it or not,” he declared during the meeting.

“If we don’t do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland, and we’re not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor.”

Trump further escalated the situation by stating, “So we’re going to be doing something with Greenland, either the nice way or the more difficult way.”

In a conversation with the Mail on Sunday, a source mentioned that several of Trump’s advisors have cautioned against a military approach.

The source commented: “They have tried to distract Trump by discussing less provocative measures, such as intercepting Russian ‘ghost’ ships – a secretive fleet of numerous vessels run by Moscow to bypass Western sanctions – or initiating a strike on Iran.”

Another source described an invasion as the ‘worst-case scenario’ that could result in the ‘destruction of NATO from the inside’.

They stated: “Some European officials suspect this is the real goal of the hardline MAGA faction surrounding Trump.

“Since Congress would not permit Trump to withdraw from NATO, occupying Greenland might compel the Europeans to abandon NATO. If Trump wants to end NATO, this could be the most feasible way to achieve it.”

Should Trump decide to proceed, it would compel NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) to respond and protect one of its members.

“If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have a NATO right now,” the president remarked. “But we’re not going to allow Russia or China to occupy Greenland, and that’s what’s going to happen if we don’t.”

Greenland’s Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, has consistently rejected Trump’s assertions.

“Threats, pressure and talk of annexation have no place between friends,” Nielsen stated.

“That is not how you speak to people who have shown responsibility, stability and loyalty time and again. Enough is enough. No more pressure. No more innuendo. No more fantasies about annexation.”

The White House has been contacted for comment.
