ICE agent who shot Renee Good becomes millionaire through online fundraisers as billionaire supports donation decision

ICE agent Jonathan Ross could become a millionaire thanks to online fundraisers set up in his name.

Ross was involved in the fatal shooting of Renee Good on January 7 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, amid protests against ICE. A fire department report disclosed that the 37-year-old mother was shot four times in the chest, arm, and head.

Emergency responders attempted to save Good, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead 48 minutes after they arrived at the scene.

Following her tragic death, $1.5 million was raised for Good’s widow and family. The fundraiser concluded on January 9 after amassing the significant amount in just two days.

Simultaneously, fundraisers were initiated for Ross as well.

It’s been reported that the ICE agent has not resumed work since the incident involving Good.

The GoFundMe created for Ross received a significant donation of $10,000 from billionaire Bill Ackman. This contribution was met with criticism, prompting Ackman to justify his decision.

In response to the backlash, Ackman stated: “My donation to Ross has been characterised in social media by the press as my ‘giving a reward to the murderer of Renee Good’ likely in an effort to generate clicks and boost virality, and by some to advance their political objectives.”

He further explained: “My purpose in supporting Ross and attempting to support Good was not to make a political statement.

“I was simply continuing my longstanding commitment to assisting those accused of crimes of providing for their defense.”

Up to this point, the GoFundMe page for Ross has raised nearly $760,000.

In addition, a separate page on GiveSendGo has accumulated over $282,000 in donations, bringing the total amount raised for Ross to approximately $1,042,000 (as of the latest update).

The GiveSendGo fundraiser description includes: “This patriot ICE agent faces smears from open-borders radicals, sanctuary city traitors like Frey, and their media mouthpieces who want to let invaders overrun us unchecked. We won’t let that happen!

“This fundraiser supports of our ICE hero’s personal costs, family protection, and anything else related to this righteous act of duty.

“These agents are the tip of the spear in reclaiming our country from the illegal invasion—deporting criminals, invaders, and threats that politicians like Frey invited in and shield.”

Meanwhile, an update on the GoFundMe page on January 13 stated that the page creator had made contact with Ross and ‘arrangements are being put into place to transfer the funds as the officer wishes’.
