Specialist highlights AI warning signs as truth emerges about ‘world’s most beautiful’ influencer

An expert has outlined some identifiable signs of AI in the wake of an AI-generated ‘model’ amassing millions of views across social media platforms.

In recent months, generative AI has reached an alarming level of sophistication, addressing earlier challenges such as misaligned hands and fingers.

Instances such as videos depicting rabbits and a bear on a trampoline, intentionally mimicking the grainy quality typical of CCTV footage to circumvent AI limitations, managed to deceive many into believing they were authentic, despite being entirely fabricated.

Adding to the controversy, the Grok AI on X sparked outrage when users prompted it to digitally remove clothing from images of women and children.

A TikTok profile that has successfully deceived a large audience belongs to ‘model’ Nia Noir, boasting approximately 2.7 million followers at present, and featuring a video that has astonishingly garnered 198.7 million views.

The catch, however, is that Nia Noir is a creation of AI.

Observers have noted that the choreography in her videos exactly replicates those uploaded by genuine creators, including sometimes her attire.

Moreover, the background in her clips often remains completely static, even in scenes where she appears outdoors, and upon closer examination, it does not quite align with her image.

Konstantin Levinzon, the co-founder of Planet VPN, a free virtual private network (VPN) service, has identified several indicators that may reveal something is AI-generated.

“AI often struggles with limbs and joints; another red flag of AI-generated images and video is often a person’s skin,” he remarked.

“In real photos, it is usually possible to spot micro-details, even with heavy makeup or editing.

“The image also looks sculpted rather than photographed: facial symmetry isn’t perfect, especially around the eyes, and the eyes have a glassy, artificial glow.”

He also mentioned issues with backgrounds, stating: “In AI-generated images, there is often a background-and-subject mismatch.

“In Nia’s image, the background looks like a flat, low-detail texture, while the person is hyper-polished.”

Generative AI technology operates by utilizing extensive databases of information, extracting data to generate images.

It remains uncertain whether Nia is modeled after a specific person or is a result of AI assembling images of different women, nor is it clear who manages the account.

Despite existing indicators that reveal its AI nature, the content was convincing enough for millions of social media users.
