A man has recounted how using medication to aid weight loss led to an unexpected change in one specific area of his body.
Mason Newman was prescribed Mounjaro, a drug primarily used to manage diabetes. This medication also acts as an appetite suppressant and can be paired with diet and exercise to facilitate weight loss.
After beginning the medication, Mason reported losing 12 stone, but this wasn’t the only change he noticed in his body.
At 28, Mason stated that he transitioned from an XXXL size to a size S. In a conversation with The Sun, he shared that prior to using a GLP-1 drug, he had attempted nearly every diet available in a bid to shed pounds.
So, what was the unexpected additional effect of the GLP-1 Mounjaro on Mason’s physique?

According to Mason, the medication allegedly added three inches to his penis.
Considering that the average penis size in the US is about 5.1 inches, this increase is rather substantial.
Mason explained: “I tried the keto diet, water fasting. I tried juices. I tried eating nothing but two chicken breasts a day and nothing else.
“That lasted three weeks and was more of a mental challenge than anything. I couldn’t stick to them.”
But what led to this perceived ‘growth’ in his penis size following weight loss?
“The first thing I noticed was I grew three inches on my penis,” he explained. “Because when the fat goes you actually do see more of yourself.”
So, while it hasn’t ‘grown’ in the literal sense, the reduction in weight made more of his anatomy visible, previously obscured by excess fat.

Nevertheless, Mason has concerns about the potential effects if he discontinues the medication.
He stated: “I put a stone back on, and the change in my mental health was crazy. I started getting anxiety and panic attacks again, so I went back on.
“If I come off it without building healthy eating habits, I’d put all the weight back on. I’m stuck, but I suppose there are worse things to be stuck on.”
Dr. Stanton Honig, Chief of Reproductive and Sexual Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, noted that fat reduction is a significant factor affecting the visibility of one’s penis. Additionally, GLP-1 drugs may improve cardiovascular health, potentially aiding those with erectile dysfunction.
However, Dr. Honig emphasized that any unexplained changes in sexual function warrant a consultation with a medical professional.
The manufacturer of Mounjaro, Eli Lilly, has been contacted for a statement.
