Woman who fled the Amish and became a stripper shares moment she realized she had to escape

A woman, who grew up in an Amish community, shared her remarkable journey of breaking away from her upbringing, ultimately leading her to a career in stripping in Las Vegas.

While many people embrace modern technology and advances, some live without these conveniences. The Amish in America lead lives vastly different from the typical US lifestyle.

Naomi Swartzentruber has openly discussed her transition from the Amish lifestyle and her teenage rebellion that fueled her curiosity about the wider world. In an interview with LADbible Stories, Swartzentruber recounted the events that convinced her she needed to leave her Amish family and community in Michigan.

Growing up, Swartzentruber explained that sex was a taboo topic. Despite her parents occasionally introducing a new sibling, she was unaware of how babies were conceived or born.

As she matured, she desired experiences beyond her community, including interactions with boys her age. With the help of a close friend, she eventually connected with non-Amish boys and described her first sexual encounter.

Reflecting on the experience, she said: “I really wanted to experience it. It didn’t last long, but afterwards I felt so excited, but I was like… well, it was exciting to me.

“I wanted to experience it more because it is fun… I didn’t know what I expected, because nobody ever talked to me about sex.

“That day just changed everything, I just felt so wild, like this fire that needed to burst out of me. I just wanted to go see the world and do everything that I wasn’t supposed to do.”

At that time, Swartzentruber was under 17, the age of adulthood in Michigan. If she attempted to run away, her parents could involve the police, forcing her return. However, a pivotal moment solidified her determination to escape.

She recalled: “One night, I got caught sneaking out when I was 17 and that was really, that is when I knew for sure that I was going to run away.

“At that point, I knew I wanted to keep having fun, but I didn’t want to sneak the rest of my life to have freedom.”

After taking her birth certificate from her father’s desk and slipping away at night, she went to live with a non-Amish boy and his family, whom she knew because he frequently bought goods from her community.

She went on to work at a fast-food restaurant before unexpectedly entering the world of stripping in Las Vegas after trying it once.

During this time, she developed a serious drug addiction but has since overcome it and now lives a sober life. She retired from stripping during the Covid-19 pandemic.
