A Danish politician has made it abundantly clear how he feels about Donald Trump’s persistent ambitions to acquire Greenland, using stark language to express his opinion.
Anders Vistisen, a Member of the European Parliament, directly addressed Trump in a recent address to the European Union’s legislative assembly, emphatically stating that Greenland is not up for negotiation.
“Dear President Trump, listen very carefully. Greenland has been part of the Danish kingdom for 800 years. It is an integrated country. It is not for sale, “ he asserted.
Vistisen didn’t hold back, voicing his sentiments with unmistakable clarity: “Let me put this in words you might understand: Mr. President, f–k off.”
The impassioned statement quickly gained traction online, with many applauding Vistisen for vocalizing a sentiment shared by others. However, his choice of words did not go unnoticed.
Immediately following his candid remark, Vistisen continued speaking in Danish, only to be interrupted by the parliamentary speaker who admonished him for his behavior.

“I am sorry, this is against our rules,” the speaker addressed him. “As much as you might feel, or the room might feel in this, we have clear rules about cuss words and language that is inappropriate in this room”
“I am sorry to interrupt you, but it is unacceptable, even if you might have strong political feelings about this.”
Vistisen’s comments were a direct reaction to Trump’s persistent rhetoric about the United States needing to take control of Greenland, despite its status as an autonomous entity within the Kingdom of Denmark.
Trump has maintained that gaining control of Greenland is crucial for U.S. national security, although many speculate that his interest lies in the island’s abundant natural resources, including oil, gas, and rare minerals.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that both Greenland and Denmark are NATO members. An attempt by Trump to take Greenland by force could necessitate intervention from other NATO countries like France, Germany, and the UK.
This could potentially lead to the unraveling of NATO and estrange the US from its key allies.
Despite the potential consequences, Trump seems undeterred and continues to pursue his interest in Greenland.
On Truth Social he wrote: “As I expressed to everyone, very plainly, Greenland is imperative for National and World Security. There can be no going back — On that, everyone agrees!”
“The United States of America is the most powerful Country anywhere on the Globe, by far… We are the only POWER that can ensure PEACE throughout the World — And it is done, quite simply, through STRENGTH!”
