Kim Kardashian addresses backlash regarding North West’s fashion after 12-year-old’s ‘face tattoos’ spark surprise

Kim Kardashian has addressed the online criticism aimed at her daughter North West concerning her fashion choices.

During an appearance on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, Kim discussed the backlash North, 12, received over her ‘face tattoos’.

North has been experimenting with different styles lately, and the online feedback hasn’t always been positive. Last year, North showcased some diamond, shark-like tooth grills on social media.

In November, she was seen with fake face tattoos and what appeared to be a piercing on her finger. This caused some concern among people regarding the dermal piercing, but a comment from the Kim and North TikTok page reassured that ‘it’s okay’.

Kim has now addressed the situation, emphasizing the importance of allowing her daughter to ‘express herself’ and ignoring the online criticism.

“I’m just not a judgemental person like that so I try not to pay attention to it,” Kim stated.

“But I think no one knows unless they’re in my shoes what I’m dealing with and how we have to manage certain things from the outside world or even close in our life, that we have to go through together.

“So I think like the one misconception that people have is like ‘oh she’s trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot’.

“No, Northie actually has a lot of rules. The one area is that I do let her express herself, and I do let her do that. I love her for that. She would do it regardless.”

Kim also addressed comments about North’s blue hair and the fake piercings, mentioning: “I have pictures of her in first grade where she’d come with like a fake septum ring and she has her green braids and pink braids.

“She’s always loved the coloured braids. She really is who she is and always has been that girl, and so I nurture her.”

Kim further explained that North is homeschooled and shared her involvement in North’s educational activities.

“A lot of it is me helping her do a lot of the teachings, but we do a lot of realistic courses,” she mentioned.

“Math we’ll give budgets and we’ll go around and get stuff… she has a brand building class… fully interactive learning… and so she had an idea of making hats and jewelry so we made it a course.”

“She has to do the web design, she has to do the budgeting, she has to go to the stores and get materials and sewing and do fashion courses.

“… It’s a full-time job, even for me and her teacher.”
