Sex surrogate with experience of over 400 clients discusses the challenges of this controversial profession

A sex surrogate has shared her experiences working in a field that often invites controversy due to its nature, where she has had over 400 clients.

Kaly Miller, 52, is a professional sex surrogate whose role is to assist individuals in overcoming challenges and insecurities related to intimacy.

Sexual insecurities and anxieties have been prevalent throughout human history, making her job a necessary service for many.

While most sex therapists engage in discussions with clients, Kaly adopts a more direct method to therapy.

This involves instructing her clients in areas like kissing and may even include engaging in sexual activity as a method to help them deal with their insecurities.

She began her career in this unique field in her late 30s after working as a massage therapist for athletes, where she observed a connection between sports performance anxiety and personal life issues.

Miller discussed the personal challenges related to the overlapping nature of her job and personal life.

Discussing relationships while working in this field, she mentioned on This Morning on January 27: “They wake up with me at 6 o’ clock in the morning and I go into my own personal practice.”

“They cannot question what I’m doing, because they’re in it with me,” she explained.

She further stated: “If anyone wanted to have some sort of connection with me, there is no me without this work.”

Initially, she was apprehensive, but a significant turning point came with her first client, which made her certain about her career choice.

“It was an incredible person that had spent their lives very shy, very awkward, never really progressing into any intimacy,” she recalled about her first client. “They were mid sixties.”

When she asked the client why they sought out a surrogate partner, they responded: “I won’t wanna die without knowing what love feels like.”

“That sentence flew through me,” she said.

“The whole work is done through me, but you do that work, and I just model what intimacy is,” Miller explained.

After a year, her first client had entered a relationship and experienced what love feels like.

Kaly is currently working on a book about her career, and noted that her family supports her profession. Her mother even had an unexpected response when she explained her work, saying: “My mum’s reaction when I explained what I was working with was ‘I think I would be a really good surrogate partner’.”

Despite any obstacles, Kaly emphasized that her profession is integral to her identity.

“I have this myriad of memories of magical moments,” she said, “I know the outcome, many of them are married, they have children.”
