Expert issues urgent alert for ‘Arctic Hurricane’ bringing perilous subzero temperatures to US

A specialist in weather analysis has cautioned that certain regions in the US might experience a winter ‘hurricane’ as another round of severe cold weather impacts the country.

Ryan Hall, a YouTuber known for his expertise in weather forecasting, has gained the title of the ‘internet’s weather man’.

In a recent video shared on his channel, Hall alerted viewers that a ‘bomb cyclone’ is expected to hit the US, forming over the Atlantic Ocean this week.

A ‘bomb cyclone’ refers to a winter storm that intensifies as air pressure rapidly drops.

The eastern coast is anticipated to be affected by the storm’s spirals, with Hall indicating that these areas might experience significant snowfall due to their geographical position.

Discussing the upcoming storm on Tuesday, Hall mentioned: “That’s pretty much a hurricane.”

“Whoever ends up on the western side of that in the cold area is going to get absolutely clobbered with snow,” he added.

Explaining the storm’s development, Hall stated: “Another arctic blast is going to come around the backside of this low-pressure system, probably the most powerful one of the year so far, and it’s going to plummet temperatures down 30 degrees below average.”

In a conversation with the Daily Mail, Hall emphasized: “We’ve got to make sure people know that they’ve got to find alternative ways to heat their house.

“And if they don’t have that, then staying in their house is not a safe, viable option. We’ve got to really help people find shelters.”

This warning coincides with emergency alerts issued across numerous US states in anticipation of a fierce winter storm affecting extensive parts of the mainland US.

A total of 17 states have declared a state of emergency in preparation for the incoming storm, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, DC, and Virginia.

The cold spell is expected to persist, with the storm predicted to intensify over the weekend.

Carl Erickson, Director of Forecasting Operations at AccuWeather, issued a statement regarding the storm’s potential consequences.

He noted: “There is an increasing risk for a rapidly strengthening coastal storm this weekend. Communities along the East Coast still digging out and cleaning up from last weekend’s storm could be hit again with more snow.”

The National Weather Service has also issued warnings for ‘extreme cold’ in central Indiana, with the affected area extending into counties in central Ohio.
