Donald Trump has suggested he might initiate legal action against the estate of Jeffrey Epstein following the release of new documents related to Epstein’s case.
Within the documents, Trump’s name appears approximately 3,000 times, with various allegations of sexual abuse, though he faces no criminal charges concerning his ties to Epstein. Trump has consistently denied any awareness of Epstein’s criminal activities, asserting that their relationship deteriorated.
Upon the release of the files, the US Justice Department reaffirmed Trump’s rejection of these allegations in a public statement.
“Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election,” the statement said.
“To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponised against President Trump already.”

Trump has now indicated that he may pursue legal action against Michael Wolff and is considering similar measures against Epstein’s estate. He accused them of conspiring to damage him politically.
When initially confronted with the latest documents, Trump was en route to Florida.
Speaking to the press on Saturday, he remarked: “I didn’t see it myself but I was told by some very important people that not only does it absolve me, it’s the opposite of what people were hoping, you know, the radical left.”
In another statement, he continued: “Wolff, who’s a third-rate writer, was conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to hurt me politically or otherwise and that came through loud and clear.
“So we’ll probably sue Wolf on that … Maybe the Epstein estate, I guess. I don’t know. But we’ll certainly sue Wolff.”

The most recent release included around 3.5 million documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, published by the Department of Justice on January 30. This was in compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act enacted in 2025, which mandated the disclosure of these files.
Numerous well-known individuals are mentioned in the documents, though being named does not imply guilt. Elon Musk has commented on his inclusion, while Bill Gates has dismissed allegations against him as ‘absolutely absurd’ and ‘completely false’.
Regarding the files, Congressman Robert Garcia stated: “We are demanding the names of Epstein’s co-conspirators and the men and pedophiles who abused women and girls.
“We will begin a thorough review of this latest limited production, but let’s be clear: our work and investigation are just getting started.”
