Fans Claim Old ‘Island Creeps’ Simpsons Episode Was Epstein-Inspired

The Simpsons has long been recognized as a family TV show with an uncanny ability to predict real-life events, and fans are now speculating about a possible connection between an episode and the late Jeffrey Epstein, who has been a major news figure in recent months.

From advancements in AI to global pandemics and even Donald Trump’s presidency, Matt Groening’s internationally acclaimed cartoon has often been ahead of the curve.

With the recent release of a large set of three million Epstein files, which contain the names of many prominent individuals, fans have begun to suggest a potential link between the convicted sex offender, Groening, and the show’s prescient themes.

It is important to clarify that inclusion in these files does not imply any wrongdoing.

The Simpsons were the first to tell us about the Epstein Files,” stated one social media user, while another commented: “The Simpsons warned the world about the orgies on Epstein’s island.”

An episode from 25 years ago seems to reference Epstein’s island, a location Groening is rumored to have visited with Epstein aboard his ‘Lolita Express’ jet.

The 2000 episode in question, titled ‘The Computer Wore Menace Shoes’, presents Homer as he discovers the internet and launches a gossip blog under the pseudonym Mr X.

He shares secrets he overhears around Springfield and even receives an award for his journalistic efforts. However, after revealing his identity while collecting the prize, tips dry up, prompting him to fabricate gossip to maintain reader interest.

One of his exaggerated stories accidentally turns out to be accurate, leading to his abduction by powerful figures and subsequent detention on an island.

Despite facing numerous challenges, Homer manages to escape and warns readers on Mr X that ‘creeps on an island somewhere’ are ‘secretly running the world’.

In a striking parallel, 25 years later, the world learned about Epstein’s trafficking of underage girls and the involvement of elite figures visiting Little Saint James and Great Saint James, commonly referred to as Epstein Island.

Viewers of the show have not overlooked this detail.

A viewer remarked: “Matt Groening put Epstein in The Simpsons. Virginia Giuffre wrote about being on Epstein’s plane with Groening and having to massage his sweaty feet!!”

Another commented: “So the creator of The Simpsons was on the Epstein file #EpsteinFiles. It’s all making sense now, the whole show was not predicting s**t it was just an inside joke among the pedophiles….”

According to Department of Justice documents, Groening is mentioned multiple times, and prominent Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre (then Roberts) alleged in her memoir that Epstein forced her to give a foot massage to The Simpsons creator on the Lolita Express jet.

Giuffre died by suicide in 2025, having been a key accuser of both Epstein and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

As for the show’s history of eerily accurate predictions, writer Al Jean offered a straightforward explanation.

In an interview with NME, he said: “One of our writers, the guy whose episode predicted Donald Trump as president, said it best, ‘If you write 700 episodes and you don’t predict anything, then you’re pretty bad.

“If you throw enough darts, you’re going to get some bullseyes’.”

They reached out to FOX and Disney for comment.
