Candace Owens alleges Turning Point USA event ‘inflated its views’ count

Candace Owens has alleged that Turning Point USA inflated the viewership numbers for its ‘alternative’ Super Bowl halftime show.

This year’s Super Bowl halftime event featured Bad Bunny in a spectacular celebration of Latin American culture, with a performance entirely in Spanish.

Donald Trump publicly criticized Bad Bunny’s halftime show, expressing his discontent on Truth Social after deciding not to attend the game.

Trump wasn’t the only one unhappy with the entertainment choice, as Green Day also performed during the pre-match segment.

Turning Point USA, a far-right group co-founded by Charlie Kirk, organized their own ‘alternative’ halftime show, with Kid Rock seemingly lip-syncing his performance.

The group claimed to have attracted five million viewers for its ‘All-American Halftime Show’, but Candace Owens has now questioned the validity of that figure.

In a message posted on X on February 8, the far-right TV host stated: “The problem with people who have a lot of money they didn’t earn, is that they tend to have no idea how stuff actually works.”

Owens, a former TPUSA employee, continued: “We have an organization that scammed its views by paying platform advertisers, followed by influencers to pretend they broke records.”

TPUSA claimed: “TPUSA All-American Halftime Show … Over 5 million simultaneous on TPUSA YT [YouTube]. Almost 1 million on Charlie Kirk’s YT. 200k on Magno News YT. 220k on TPUSA Rumble. 15k CK Rumble.”

The statement added, “The entire audience on RAV. And noticeably, the audience kept going up throughout the competing show.”

Owens also criticized the main halftime show, commenting: “I am sorry but I hate both options.”

Discussing Bad Bunny’s show, she remarked: “We have a halftime show presented without a word of English spoken,” concluding, “The left vs. right grift is actually boring now. What exactly are we doing here, America?”

Some spectators expressed dissatisfaction with the choice of an artist performing in Spanish.

Bad Bunny’s act marked a historic milestone as the first halftime performance to feature an artist singing in a language other than English.

Forbes states that around 13 percent of the U.S. population speaks Spanish at home, which is approximately 44.3 million people.

This number of Spanish speakers in the U.S. surpasses many countries where Spanish is an official language and is comparable to Spain itself.

Efforts to reach TPUSA for comment have been made.
