Savannah Guthrie Shares New Video on Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie Makes Emotional Plea After Her Mother Goes Missing

Savannah Guthrie has shared a poignant video online asking for assistance after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing. The 84-year-old was last seen on January 31 after she vanished from her residence in Tucson, Arizona. Authorities suspect she may have been taken against her will on February 1.

Several media organizations have received a “ransom note” with a specified deadline. FBI Special Agent in Charge Heith Janke announced a new deadline, stating: “If a transfer wasn’t made, the second demand was for next Monday. I’m not going to go beyond that.”

As the search for Nancy continues, Savannah, cohost of TODAY, used Instagram to share a video requesting public help in locating her mother, describing the ordeal as a “nightmare.”

She expressed gratitude for the prayers and support, saying, “the love that we have felt, myself and my sister and brother and I, and that our mom has felt.”

“We believe that somehow, someway she is feeling these prayers, and that God is lifting her even in this moment, in this darkest place,” she shared with her followers. “We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help.

“Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken and we don’t know where, and we need your help.”

Savannah urged anyone with potentially helpful information to step forward. “I’m coming on just to ask you not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement,” she requested.

She concluded her message with, “We are at an hour of desperation and we need your help.”

The family reported Nancy missing after she did not attend her regular church service, raising their concerns.

There is additional worry regarding Nancy’s health conditions, which could become life-threatening without her regular medication.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department provided an update, saying: “The Nancy Guthrie investigation is ongoing. Follow-up continues at multiple locations. No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified. No scheduled press briefings.”

They added: “If any significant developments occur in the case, a press conference will be called.”
