The ex-girlfriend of Norwegian Olympian Sturla Holm Lægreid has spoken out after the biathlon medalist confessed to cheating during a live broadcast.
Lægreid gained attention not just for earning a spot on the podium at the 2026 Winter Olympics on February 10, but also due to his candid admission that overshadowed his bronze medal achievement.
In an interview with Norwegian broadcaster NRK following his victory, Lægreid revealed his infidelity to his ex-girlfriend, stating: “There’s someone I wanted to share this with who might not be watching today.
“Six months ago, I met the love of my life and the most beautiful and kindest person in the world. And three months ago I made my biggest mistake and cheated on her.”
Reacting to the 28-year-old athlete’s revelation, his former partner spoke to VG, choosing to remain unnamed.
She conveyed in a written statement to the publication: “It’s hard to forgive. Even after a declaration of love in front of the whole world.”
