Priyanka Chopra Jonas has shared her thoughts on what she believes might ‘rub people the wrong way’ about her marriage to Nick Jonas.
Age disparities in relationships often spark debate, with social media frequently highlighting the age differences in celebrity pairings and discussing which are deemed acceptable.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, an actor, is well-acquainted with such discussions. Her relationship with musician Nick Jonas has been the subject of significant public scrutiny, particularly due to the fact that she is 10 years older than him.
The couple has been the focus of speculation about the stability of their relationship, despite being together for eight years, marrying just ‘six months after meeting,’ and now having a daughter together.
Priyanka addressed the ‘hurtful’ nature of these comments and their impact on her in an interview with Variety.

The 43-year-old actress and producer explained what she thinks ‘rubs people the wrong way’ about her and Nick’s relationship.
She elaborated: “I think there was the intercultural nature of it — different countries, different religions, age gap.”
Despite the ‘hurtful’ nature of this scrutiny, Priyanka has managed to ‘stop thinking about’ those anticipating the end of her marriage.
Reflecting on their bond, Priyanka said: “We both, instead of looking out, just sort of looked at each other, and we were like, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ So it’s like water off a duck’s back now.”
Praising Nick, Priyanka describes him as ‘constantly sincere,’ and credits him for helping her become ‘more comfortable with [her] awkwardness and [her] insecurities’ since their wedding.
“It really continues to be inspiring to me, this sincerity,” she remarked.
Ultimately, Priyanka tries to maintain a division between her public and private personas, explaining that she’s ‘kind of divided [herself] into two’.

She mentioned that she’s ‘OK with being approached by anyone and taking photos,’ and even though she often has security guards with her family, ‘they know that she [loves] people coming to talk to’ her.
As for the reason behind the security presence, Priyanka explained that the guards are there to prevent her and her family from being ‘recorded without consent’.
“That’s my biggest thing with everyone having cellphones,” she added. “It happens often, especially with my daughter. We’re in the park or having ice cream, and suddenly I’ll see it online.”
