Savannah Guthrie has issued another emotional appeal to her mother’s abductors, as it has now been over two weeks since her disappearance from her Tucson, Arizona residence.
The TODAY host conveyed a message to the captors of her mom, Nancy, stating it is ‘never too late to do the right thing’ in her recent video message. She urged ‘whoever has her, or knows where she is’ to come forward with information.
This appeal arises amid various developments in the investigation into the 84-year-old’s disappearance, which occurred in the early hours of February 1. Notably, authorities have discovered new DNA evidence.
On Sunday, police recovered a glove with DNA matching that of a suspect captured on the doorbell camera at Nancy’s home. This glove was located in a field adjacent to a road, approximately two miles from where she vanished.
FBI officials announced on Sunday that the DNA found in the glove belonged to a male and was distinct from other gloves found nearby. “The one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video,” the agency stated.
“It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken. And I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope. And we still believe,” Savannah expressed in her latest appeal.
Speaking directly to her mother’s kidnappers, the news anchor pleaded: “I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is that it’s never too late. And you’re not lost or alone. And it is never too late to do the right thing. And we are here. And we believe. And we believe in the essential goodness of every human being.”
She concluded with: “Bring her home. It’s never too late to do the next right thing.”
