Hillary Clinton Speaks Out on Epstein Documents, Accuses Trump

Hillary Clinton has criticized Donald Trump following her comments about her husband Bill’s mention in the Epstein files.

The former presidential contender, who was defeated by Trump in 2016, was interviewed by the BBC in Berlin, where she was participating in the World Forum.

This comes after a significant release of documents from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, implicating numerous high-profile individuals.

Among those identified in the documents are Donald Trump and former US president Bill Clinton. Being named does not necessarily imply guilt.

Hillary Clinton has now criticized Trump’s approach to the files and made significant allegations against his administration.

She suggested that she and Bill Clinton were being unfairly singled out to divert attention from Trump.

“Look at this shiny object,” she commented. “We’re going to have the Clintons, even Hillary Clinton, who never met the guy.”

Clinton also accused the Trump administration of attempting to ‘cover up’ the files.

“Get the files out. They are slow-walking it,” she insisted.

This development follows the Clintons’ agreement to testify in a congressional investigation into Epstein after the House initiated a motion to hold them in contempt of Congress.

The bill aimed to find Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt for initially refusing to appear before the House Oversight Committee, with Republican committee chair James Comer accusing them of ‘delay’.

Speaking to the BBC, Hillary Clinton said: “We will show up but we think it would be better to have it in public.”

She added: “I just want it to be fair. I want everybody treated the same way.”

“We have nothing to hide. We have called for the full release of these files repeatedly. We think sunlight is the best disinfectant.”

Hillary is scheduled to testify on February 26, followed by Bill on the next day.

In response to Clinton’s remarks to the BBC, Trump stated: “I’ve been exonerated. I had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. They went in hoping that they’d find it, and they found just the opposite.”

The US Department of Justice has previously issued a statement addressing the allegations against Trump, saying: “Some docs contain untrue and sensationalist claims against Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election.

“To be clear the claims are unfounded and false and if they have any shred of credibility they certainly would have been weaponised against Trump already.”

A statement from the White House also declared: “By releasing thousands of pages of documents, co-operating with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena request, and President Trump recently calling for further investigations into Epstein’s Democrat friends, the Trump Administration has done more for the victims than Democrats ever have.”
