Whoopi Goldberg addresses rumors about dating Jeffrey Epstein

Whoopi Goldberg has addressed the rumors regarding her alleged association with Jeffrey Epstein after her name appeared in the recent documents released by the DOJ.

The co-host of The View was mentioned 21 times in the documents, leading some to speculate that the Sister Act star had personal ties to the deceased sex offender. Goldberg was quick to refute these claims, delivering a passionate explanation to clarify her stance.

During the Tuesday morning broadcast of the show, the 70-year-old actress addressed the matter, saying: “In the name of transparency, my name is in the files. Yes. And what does it say? It says ‘Whoopi needs a plane to get to Monaco John Lennon’s – it should say Julian Lennon’s charity – is paying for it.”

She elaborated: “They don’t want to charter so they’re looking for private owners. Here’s the info. And they give all the information and they’re saying ‘Do you want to offer your G2?’”

Co-host Joy Behar added: “So in other words, anyone can be on this list.”

Goldberg responded: “This is my point. I’m telling you when people are trying to turn me into – I wasn’t his girlfriend, I wasn’t his friend, I was not only too old but it was at a time where this is just not – you used to have to have facts before you said stuff.”

Clearly frustrated, Goldberg continued: “I’m speaking about me because I’m getting dragged. People actually believe that I was with him. It’s like ‘honey, come on.’ Every man that I’ve ever been with you’ve known about him because either the Inquirer wrote about it, people wrote about this stuff. And no I didn’t get on the plane because you know what I would have to do to get on that plane? They’re trying to get me to get on a plane to get to this thing for Julian Lennon.”

The email Goldberg mentioned was dated May 8, 2013, when organizers of a charity event were seeking private jet owners to help her travel to Monaco after her initial travel plans fell through.

The email stated: “Whoopi Goldberg needs a plane to get to Monaco. John Lennon’s charity is paying for it. They don’t want to charter so they are looking for private owners. the scheduled jet fell through yesterday and they are scrambling to get Whoopi over to Monaco.”

It continued: “I am sure the jet owner could attend the fete and get fuel reimbursed (otherwise, if it is to be paid for, we would love to know the costs so we can factor it in for John. Obviously the more money we keep, the more goes directly to the charity.)’ Would you want to offer the GII?”

The sender’s name was redacted, but the email was addressed to ‘Larry V’ and ‘JE Jail.’

Goldberg is not the only celebrity mentioned in the Epstein files. Other prominent figures listed include Alec Baldwin, Beyonce, Jay Z, Meghan Markle, Diana Ross, Amy Schumer, Bruce Springsteen, Woody Allen, Tucker Carlson, Alyssa Milano, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, David Copperfield, Kevin Spacey, Cher, George Clooney, Kurt Cobain, Robert De Niro, Bono, Mick Jagger, and Barbra Streisand.

However, a name appearing in the files does not imply any misconduct or connection with the late financier.
