Halle Berry reveals the one thing she refuses to do during sex anymore

Halle Berry has spoken about a firm boundary she now keeps in the bedroom while enjoying a passionate relationship with fiancé Van Hunt.

Berry began seeing Hunt when she was 54, later describing him as “the man of [her] dreams”.

Still, the couple have faced a few bumps along the way — including a frightening health misunderstanding that started after Berry experienced pain during sex.

Recalling the experience at the 2024 ‘A Day of Unreasonable Conversation’ summit, Berry said: “I feel like I have razor blades in my vagina. I run to my gynecologist and I say, ‘Oh my God, what’s happening?’ It was terrible. [My doctor] said, ‘You have the worst case of herpes I’ve ever seen.’ I’m like, ‘Herpes? I don’t have herpes!'”

In the end, both Berry and Hunt tested negative for herpes, and the 59-year-old was told her symptoms were linked to perimenopause — something that impacts around two million women in the US annually.

Now, in 2026, Berry has again shared details about her sex life — explaining that she’s done pretending to orgasm.

While speaking on a recent episode of the Sex With Emily podcast, she admitted: “I don’t do that anymore. We had to get there so that he felt good about bringing us to orgasm. We had to say that we did it so that he would feel good about himself. Because what is that doing? That’s putting his needs before our own.”

Berry added: “I’m like, ‘No, I come first like you come first to you.’ We both deserve to have this be a mutually enjoyable experience, so we both can roll over and go to sleep because we feel good—not one snoring and the other one looking at the ceiling, going, ‘What the hell?'”

Berry and Hunt first connected in 2020, and earlier this month she confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that they are engaged.

Addressing speculation about how things played out, Berry said: “There’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no,” Berry began. “No, that’s not the case. I did not say ‘no,’ we just don’t have a date. Of course, I said ‘yes, I would marry him.'”

Hunt had previously discussed the proposal during a June 2025 interview with Today, explaining that he’d asked the question but hadn’t received a definitive answer — noting Berry’s history of three previous marriages and divorces.

As he put it: “I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” Hunt stated. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”
