California Governor says he’s “seen enough” and “bans” Kid Rock from the state

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr and Kid Rock’s ‘inappropriate’ video working out together has prompted the Governor of California to ‘ban’ Rock.

Kid Rock has been attracting plenty of attention lately — and not all of it has been flattering.

Earlier this month, the musician was accused of lip-syncing during an alternative Super Bowl halftime show appearance.

The moment even drew a reaction from Bill Maher, who reportedly messaged Rock to share his opinion on what he’d seen.

Now, Rock is back in the spotlight after a gym video featuring him alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr began circulating widely online.

Reaction on X was swift, with one user describing the clip as ‘a f**king joke and embarrassment,’.

Another summed it up more simply: “This is weird.”

The fallout has reportedly reached California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has since appeared to declare that Kid Rock is effectively not welcome in the state.

In a post shared to X on February 21, the ‘Official account for the press office of @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom #CaliforniaForAll’ wrote: “I HAVE SEEN ENOUGH. AS GOVERNOR OF THE FREE WORLD, I, GAVIN C. NEWSOM, AM OFFICIALLY BANNING “KID ROCK” FROM CALIFORNIA.

“HIS SHIRTLESS VIDEO WITH ‘SECRETARY BRAINWORM’ WAS INAPPROPRIATE, CREEPY, AND VERY LOW ENERGY. NOT WHAT YOU WANT AROUND OUR CHILDREN!”

Newsom didn’t stop there, also taking aim at Rock’s push-up technique and claiming they were among the weakest he’d ever seen.

He added: “CALIFORNIA ONLY ALLOWS WINNERS! I AM ALSO BANNING WORKING OUT IN JEANS, VERY STRANGE! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! — GOVERNOR GCN.”

If that warning is anything to go by, denim in the weight room may now be officially frowned upon — at least in this particular corner of the internet.

For anyone who hasn’t watched the clip yet, it shows Kennedy Jr and Rock meeting up at a gym to, as one description suggests, ‘rock out’ a ‘work out’.

The caption reads: “I’ve teamed up with Kid Rock to deliver two simple messages to the American people: GET ACTIVE + EAT REAL FOOD.”

In the video, the pair appear to coach each other through different exercises, using several weight machines as they move through the session.

Things then take a more unusual turn, with both men removing their shirts in a sauna before heading to a pool.

The clip ends with them raising a glass of ‘whole milk’.

Viewers continued to pile in with commentary, including one X user who wrote: “It doesn’t get any better than this’ — really? I can name 500 things better than this.”
