Manosphere figure Myron Gaines has taken aim at Louis Theroux after a Netflix documentary highlighted his views about women.
Gaines — whose real name is Amrou Fudl — has levelled serious accusations at the film-makers following the programme’s release on the streaming service.
The documentary sees Theroux delve into the rapidly expanding “manosphere”, a space where male influencers and podcasters share opinions about women that are frequently criticised as misogynistic.
With concerns growing about the reach these creators have among young, impressionable audiences, many of the personalities featured in the scene have faced sustained backlash online.
Gaines, known as a co-host of the Fresh & Fit podcast, has been widely mocked on social media after claiming he understands women’s needs better than women do. He has also drawn attention for releasing a book titled Why Women Deserve Even Less.
Now, however, he says Netflix and Theroux presented him unfairly by cutting material that would have provided “context”.

During a seven-hour livestream titled Inside the Therouxsphere of lies, he alleged the documentary was edited in a way that “made him look crazy”.
In the broadcast, he described Netflix as a “bunch of woke garbage” and claimed the production had a clear intent: taking “a polarising person, put them in a box, make them look crazy, give shock value and sell it off.”
In the documentary, Gaines is shown objecting to his now ex-girlfriend appearing in certain scenes after she is confronted with his stated plans to pursue multiple wives, following his explanation of a one-sided approach to monogamy.
Since then, he has asserted that he has the full, uncut exchanges with Theroux on camera and has shared his own material to argue that the final programme was deliberately shaped to portray him negatively.
Beyond the documentary itself, Gaines also criticised podcaster Chris Williamson, accusing him of “platforming my critics, detractors, and outright haters on Modern Wisdom” after Williamson interviewed Theroux about the series and Gaines’ role in it.
Louis fell right into my trap. I knew he would cut hours of footage to remove context and construct a false narrative.
Good thing I have it.

He wrote on X: “@ChrisWillx, you are a coward, and I am calling you out publicly for this pattern of selective cowardice that has gone on far too long.”
He added: “And now Louis Theroux, disingenuous as ever in his so-called journalism, has released his manosphere documentary. He selectively edited and framed the footage to push a clear agenda, conveniently omitting key context and moments that would have told the full, unfiltered story. Fully expecting this, I recorded all my interactions with @louistheroux and his team. Tonight, I am exposing exactly what he was too scared to include. The audience deserves the truth, not a curated hit piece.”
In a separate post where he pointed followers to the section of his stream featuring his rebuttal, he said: “Louis fell right into my trap. I knew he would cut hours of footage to remove context and construct a false narrative. Good thing I have it. Time to expose him.”
Neither Theroux nor Netflix have publicly addressed Gaines’ claims in the posts referenced above.
