Jack Quaid has offered a fresh hint about Meghan Markle’s long-awaited return to acting, after appearing alongside her in a movie filmed last year.
The 33-year-old The Boys actor is set to feature in a new comedy directed by Jason Orley. Titled Close Personal Friends, the film centres on a couple whose run-in with a famous pair spirals into an uncomfortable, awkward situation.
The project, shot toward the end of last year, also includes a standout ensemble. The cast features Lily Collins of Emily in Paris, Brie Larson from Captain Marvel, and Crazy Rich Asians favourite Henry Golding.
When filming got underway, reports surfaced saying the former Suits star Meghan would be stepping back in front of the camera years after leaving acting following her engagement to Prince Harry.
It has been eight years since Meghan last appeared in a scripted film or TV role, but Close Personal Friends is expected to mark her acting comeback.

Quaid recently spoke about what it was like working with the Duchess of Sussex. “It was insane,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
He also shared that he thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere on set with the rest of the cast.
“[It] is just an incredible group of people to be a part of,” he added. “Every day we went to set and we tried our best to make each other laugh.”
Close Personal Friends will be Meghan’s first acting job since finishing her time on Suits. She is also believed to be playing a version of herself in the film.
After stepping away from acting, Meghan became a working member of the royal family before she and Prince Harry relocated back to the US, where they are raising their children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.
Speaking previously about moving on from acting, Meghan explained how she viewed the transition. “I don’t see it as giving anything up,” she told the BBC. “I just see it as a change.”

She continued: “For me, once we hit the 100-episode marker, I thought, you know what? I have ticked this box, and I feel really proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to, as you said, work as a team with [Harry].”
In the years since, Meghan has made a different kind of screen return, fronting the Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which ran for two seasons and included a Christmas special.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan also have another Netflix project in the pipeline: a polo-focused series being developed through their production company.
