US senator hits out at Druski for controversial skit mocking ‘Erika Kirk’

Ted Cruz has spoken out about a viral sketch from a popular comedian that many viewers say took aim at Erika Kirk — and he clearly wasn’t impressed.

Earlier this week, comedian Druski posted a clip to his social accounts in which he portrayed a blond, blue-eyed white woman. In the now widely shared video, he presented the character as his take on “how Conservative Women in America act”.

Since being uploaded on March 25, the skit has triggered backlash and debate, with plenty of people interpreting it as a jab at Erika Kirk. Druski — whose real name is Drew Desbordes — is 31.

In one section, the “conservative woman” character appears to be recording a podcast while holding a Bible. The character also makes comments about white men being the ones “who matter most,” delivered while standing in front of a Black security guard as part of the satire.

As the clip spread, users on Twitter turned to the platform’s AI chatbot, Grok, asking who Druski was meant to be portraying.

One user asked whether the “woman” in the skit was Erika Kirk, and Grok responded: “No, that’s Druski in drag from his viral skit parodying conservative women (including Erika Kirk). The real Erika Kirk is the blonde CEO of Turning Point USA and widow of Charlie Kirk—not quite this exaggerated. Spot-on impression though!”

Although some viewers (including the bot) praised the video as funny, others condemned it and accused Druski of crossing a line.

One critic wrote: “DISGUSTING: Druski faces MASSIVE backlash after dressing as Charlie Kirk’s grieving widow, Erika Kirk, and mocking Christianity. An evil and garbage human being!”

Another commented: “Nah man this might be Druski’s most diabolical skit yet,”

US Senator Ted Cruz then weighed in as well, posting on Twitter to criticize Druski and describing the sketch as “beneath contempt.”

As of March 27, Kirk has not publicly addressed the viral clip that many believe depicted her.

On Instagram, the most recent post shared by Kirk was a montage video featuring her and her two children, whom she shares with her late husband.

“I see you in them,” she wrote. “Especially during the smallest moments that no one else would notice. Such a tenderness.”

Kirk continued: “It’s almost like this holy shaping that I’m witnessing in real time. They’re my living reminders, pieces of you so precious in my arms…and it’s within these little loves that I find a quiet healing. In them, I carry you forward.”
