Donald Trump has built a huge public profile since winning the presidency twice, but many people may not realize just how far his name has been extended across projects, properties, and proposals.
For years, Trump Tower — along with his hotels and golf resorts — helped cement his branding during his long run in real estate. These days, though, that’s only part of the picture.
Since returning to the White House for a second term last year as the 47th president, Trump has been linked to a wave of efforts aimed at putting his name on prominent places and initiatives — moves that have sparked plenty of debate.
From well-known sites to major institutions, Trump’s name is now being attached to more and more high-profile targets.
On Monday (March 30), Florida Governor Ron DeSantis filed a motion that would rename the airport to “the President Donald J Trump international airport,” after the Trump business submitted a trademark application for the name in February.

If approved, the updated name could reportedly be in place as soon as July.
Before that can happen, the proposal would need to be sent to the Federal Aviation Administration for sign-off, followed by updates across official systems and airport signage.
Even so, the process is already moving, with Representative Brian Mast expected to introduce legislation that would change the airport code from PBI to Trump’s initials (DJT), according to The Hill.
The National News Desk quoted Mast as saying of the change: “President Donald J. Trump’s impact on our nation will transcend our time—a historic legacy of dedication and commitment toward the American people. He’s called Palm Beach County ‘home’ for many years, and this designation reflects our gratitude for his public service and leadership.”
In another headline-making step, the White House announced plans in December 2025 to alter the name of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for Performing Arts to “the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.”
The move followed a vote by the Kennedy Center board of trustees — a board that included individuals personally chosen by Trump.
Palm Beach International Airport is now officially…. “President Donald J. Trump International Airport!”
Proud to have played a small role in making this happen. Huge thanks to @megforflorida, @GovRonDeSantis, @JamesUthmeierFL, and the overwhelming majority in the Florida House! pic.twitter.com/Yi5LSdlDaT

Because the venue was established as a memorial to former President John F. Kennedy following his assassination in Dallas, Texas, in 1963, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) argued that Trump had ‘no authority to actually rename the Kennedy Center in the absence of legislative action’, citing US code.
That dispute prompted Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty to file a lawsuit seeking removal of Trump’s name from the institution.

Around the same period, Trump also renamed the USIP. In that case, the Associated Press reported it followed claims that Trump had ‘fired the institute’s board in the spring’ as well as its employees, which then brought the building under the General Services Administration.
Democrats again said the shift was made without legal authority — a claim the White House has denied.
The legal wrangling is still underway, though a federal judge has noted that parts of the takeover were unlawful.
That end-of-year stretch also brought a defense-related rebrand, with talk of new ‘Trump-class’ battleships.

At the time, the Navy described its ship, USS Defiant, as belonging to a ‘class of American-designed battleships that will be the most lethal surface combatant ever constructed’, pointing to its scale and capabilities.
And these examples aren’t the only changes tied to Trump’s second-term White House.
Over the past year, his branding has surfaced across a wide range of ideas and merchandise — from banners featuring his name and face in DC, to children’s savings products referred to as Trump Accounts, alongside reports of renamed items like a national park pass featuring Trump and George Washington, TrumpRx’s prescription-drug search engine, and even currency said to include his signature.
Whether praised or criticized, it’s clear he’s intent on leaving a highly visible stamp.
The White House was contacted for comment.
