Coachella attendees are facing $360 check for dinner garden party

Coachella is less than two weeks away, and anyone heading to the desert should brace themselves for the 2026 food prices—especially with Michelin-star names and high-end pop-ups in the mix.

From April 10, crowds will pour into the California heat to catch their favorite acts across the weekend—and, inevitably, they’ll need to eat between sets.

With passes and weekend packages ranging from $549 to well over $1700, you might assume the spending would ease up once you’re inside the festival.

Instead, Coachella’s premium dining options look set to push budgets even further, led by the Outstanding in the Field pop-up. Hosted in the VIP Rose Garden, it delivers a long-table dinner designed to feel like a quintessential California culinary moment.

And it comes in at more than $300.

On Coachella’s website, the experience is described as ‘Jim Denevan’s roving, off-grid culinary experience’—a concept that’s traveled to around 25 countries. For the festival, the dinner promises a menu with a ‘signature cocktail’ followed by ‘a four-course, wine-paired communal dinner prepared by acclaimed chefs from California and beyond.’

The seating begins at 6pm sharp, and the base $350 reservation includes $12.50 in fees, totaling $362.50 per person for the “without walls” dinner setup.

It’s a hefty price for a meal.

But the company frames it as more than just food, positioning it as a communal event built around connection and place.

On its site, the team says they are ‘setting our long table in fields, orchards and along the seashores where the meal’s ingredients were harvested’ to ‘reconnect diners to the land while celebrating the hardworking hands that feed us.’

So, what’s actually being served at Coachella?

If you were hoping to see a detailed menu before deciding whether the price is worth it, you may be out of luck.

A look through Coachella’s site and the dining experience’s pages doesn’t reveal a specific dish-by-dish breakdown.

That said, Coachella does note that vegetarian, vegan, and alternative options will be available for attendees across the festival.

And for anyone trying to keep costs down, there are plenty of more familiar, casual choices elsewhere on-site, including pizza, bang bang noodles, pasta, tacos, and more.

Online, some attendees have debated whether the VIP dinner is worth the spend, with Reddit users also pointing out that the seating time may clash with some of the biggest performances—meaning you could miss prime set times.

One person replied to a user asking if it’s ‘worth it’ by saying: “If you’re ok with missing primetime music hours for a fancy-shmancy meal then yes it is.”

Still, others said they enjoyed the food and the experience, so whether it makes sense ultimately depends on what you value more: the dining event or being in the crowd for peak performances.
