Caitlyn Jenner has reportedly lodged a claim against the estate of her late friend and manager, Sophia Hutchins, alleging she is owed close to $500,000.
Hutchins died on July 2 last year at the age of 29 following an ATV crash said to have occurred near Jenner’s home in Malibu.
Reports state the businesswoman plunged roughly 350 feet down a ravine and was declared dead at the scene.
Law enforcement have said Hutchins struck another vehicle from behind before the ATV left the roadway and went over the edge. Sergeant Eduardo Saucedo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has suggested speed was likely a factor.
In the months since the accident, Jenner, now 76, has spoken publicly about how hard the loss has been.
At the same time, she has reportedly submitted a creditor claim seeking repayment for expenses she says were incurred prior to Hutchins’ death.

Based on documents cited by Page Six, Jenner claims a total of $439,095.88 tied to credit card spending, legal costs, and other charges.
The paperwork—reported by multiple outlets—also alleges $273,000 was spent with Shopify, 1stdibs, and other online retailers.
In addition, the filing reportedly includes more than $133,000 for attorneys Jenner and Hutchins retained together, around $16,000 in debit card transactions, and approximately $7,000 in cash advances.
The reports indicate Hutchins had access to credit cards for business-related use, with the understanding that any personal spending would be paid back.
However, she died before reimbursing those amounts, according to the claim.

People reports that Hutchins’ estate accepted Jenner’s claim on March 27, while noting that certain individual items may still require court approval before any payment can be made.
Jenner addressed her grief during an appearance on Fox News at Night on August 28, nearly two months after Hutchins’ death.
Jenner said: “Recently, my good friend Sophia passed away in a tragic accident. But for the last seven weeks, I’ve been dealing with death, and it’s so difficult.”
Hutchins had previously spoken about their relationship on The Hidden Truth with Jim Breslo podcast, reflecting on how they connected after meeting in 2015 while Jenner was transitioning.
“We have so much in common; we see the world so similarly and we both are such a good match for each other because we challenge each other,” she told Breslo.
“She challenges me in so many ways, has allowed me to grow in so many ways and I hope I challenge her to grow and I think because we share so many of the same passions and views, it’s just a great match, a great partnership.”
Jenner has also spoken highly of Hutchins’ abilities and the bond they shared.
“She is one of the top minds in her field. Her value in my life is undeniable. The sky is the limit with her entrepreneurial spirit,” she told The New York Times.
