Emails that appear to reference US first lady Melania Trump have resurfaced in newly released Epstein-related documents, following a statement in which she denied any awareness of his crimes.
A large batch of records connected to the estate of financier and convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein has been made public.
Among the material are numerous emails and references involving well-known figures, including US president Donald Trump. Trump has said he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct and has not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with any past association.
Melania Trump recently issued a statement rejecting any link to Epstein’s abuse.
“I have never had any knowledge of Epstein abuse of his victims,” she said. “I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant.”

She also urged greater openness around the documents and called for survivors to be given the opportunity to speak publicly and have their accounts formally recorded.
“Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the congressional record.
“Then, and only then, we will have the truth.”
In the April 9 statement, she additionally backed congressional hearings for survivors and pushed back against claims circulating online that Epstein played a role in introducing her to her husband.
“The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today.
“The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.”

Separately, emails that appear to include a person identified as “Melania” have drawn renewed attention after being included in the latest release of Epstein-related files.
The messages are dated October 23, 2002, and show “Melania” in correspondence that also references an individual listed as “GI,” alongside “JE.”
The email was uploaded as part of the collection hosted on the Justice Department’s website.
It read: “Dear GI How are you? Nice story about JE in NY mag. You look great on the picture,” the woman who identifies herself as Melania writes. “I know you are very busy flying all over the world. How was Palm Beach?”
The ‘Melania’ person then says: “I cannot wait to go down. Give me a call when you are back in NY. Have a great time! Love, Melania.”
Epstein has long been associated with a circle of wealthy and influential people, many of whom are referenced across the released material. Being named in the documents, however, does not by itself indicate criminal conduct.
