Residents in Florida have reportedly sent furious letters to the judge overseeing Tiger Woods’ DUI case, calling for tough action and pointing to his links with President Trump.
Woods, 50, was arrested in March following a car crash in Florida and has been charged with driving under the influence. The incident has reignited scrutiny of his past legal troubles.
Back in 2017, Woods was also arrested on DUI-related allegations after police found him asleep in his car, with a mix of prescription medication reported in his system. He ultimately avoided jail and pleaded guilty to reckless driving.
In the new case, Woods has pleaded not guilty. However, locals have argued that his repeated incidents suggest a troubling pattern that authorities should treat seriously.
According to a letter obtained by US Weekly, one resident claimed this could be the community’s “last opportunity” to prevent another incident before someone else is harmed.
The writer reportedly urged the court to impose the harshest possible penalty.

He wrote: “This case gives Martin County an opportunity to show the public that justice is not controlled by celebrity status, wealth, political friendship or public-relations pressure.”
The resident also argued that Woods’ relationship with the president makes it especially important for the prosecution to be seen as impartial.
“The public must know that President Trump, political pressure, and celebrity status will not affect the outcome of a Martin County criminal case,” he added.
The letter continued: “This is not about hatred toward Tiger Woods. This is about equal justice and public safety.
“Mr. Woods has already received leniency in the past. The public now deserves to see that Martin County will enforce the law fairly and firmly, even when the defendant is one of the most famous athletes in the world.”
A separate local voice reportedly called for Woods to lose his driving privileges right away.

They added: “The judge will probably tell him he’s lucky he did not kill a family, a child, or a pregnant woman before he is told to do jail time.”
The crash happened on March 27 on a two-lane road and left Woods’ Land Rover overturned. No injuries were reported.
In a statement posted on X addressing the charges, Woods said:
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today.
“I’ve committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
Representatives for Tiger Woods have been contacted for comment.
