Jennifer Lopez accused of ‘staging paparazzi exit’ as footage reveals hidden details

What looked like a casual hotel departure has instead sparked debate online, after video of Jennifer Lopez leaving a New York City property this week led some viewers to suspect the moment was more staged than spontaneous.

The clip, filmed outside a Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday, shows Lopez, 56, pausing near the entrance while several people exited the building ahead of her.

After the doorway and sidewalk cleared, she stepped out and began walking toward her car in what one onlooker called a “runway worthy walk”, briefly acknowledging fans before getting into the waiting vehicle.

The video quickly circulated on social media, where critics argued the exit appeared overly orchestrated.

“This is peak celebrity nonsense: Jennifer Lopez literally waiting for the crowd to clear before doing a 20-foot walk to her car, just to stage her paparazzi exit,” one person wrote on X.

“This is next level narcissism. JLo pausing like a diva for the ‘peasants’ to clear out so she can strut 20 feet to her SUV?” added another.

Some viewers also pointed to a moment in the footage where a woman carrying a baby appeared to speed up as she moved past, which several people said stood out as uncomfortable.

At the time, Lopez was heading to a screening of her upcoming Netflix movie Office Romance at AMC Newport Centre in Jersey City.

She dressed up for the appearance in a belted fur coat layered over a brown skirt, paired with pointed-toe heels and a matching brown clutch.

According to the Daily Mail, the same evening also saw Lopez photographed appearing to flirt with her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein during Netflix’s upfront event.

The two, who play romantic leads in the film, have been the subject of dating speculation for months. Previous reports have claimed their on-set chemistry was “electric” and that they were “all over each other” at the wrap party.

Lopez has not exactly shut down the chatter, having named Goldstein as the best onscreen kisser she has ever worked with during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in October 2025.

Office Romance, a rom-com centered on two work-obsessed colleagues who start a secret relationship, arrives on Netflix on June 5.

The moment also lands during a particularly active stretch for Lopez professionally. She has recently earned strong reviews for her supporting role in Kiss of the Spider Woman, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, and she launched a Las Vegas residency at the Colosseu at Caesars Palace last December. She has sold more than 80 million records globally, and her films have collectively brought in over $1.9 billion.
