Observant Instagram followers think they may have spotted a clue to Millie Bobby Brown’s baby’s name, even though the actor has kept the child’s identity out of the public eye.
The 22-year-old Enola Holmes star expanded her family last summer, after she and husband Jake Bongiovi chose to adopt a child just under a year after they married.
While some fans hoped she might begin sharing more glimpses of parenthood, Brown has largely kept that part of her life private.
Still, online speculation has been reignited after a recent Instagram upload appeared to include a possible hint — and it didn’t take long for followers to start drawing conclusions.
Brown shared a beach photo on Saturday (May 16), posing in a yellow bikini while looking up at the camera. Around her neck was a necklace featuring a single name — and that detail quickly became the focus of the comments.
She has previously indicated that she hopes to have a bigger family in the future, opening up about the topic on the Smartless podcast.
“I really want a family. I really want a big family.”
She also spoke about how that desire fits into both her and Bongiovi’s backgrounds.
“I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future.
“Jake knows how important it is to me [to have children]. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me, personally. It’s a huge thing.”
In the new post, along with a multicoloured bead necklace, Brown wore a minimalist metal name necklace. Many commenters immediately suggested the name could belong to the child she shares with Bongiovi.
That name — ‘Ruth’ — prompted excited reactions in the replies.

Others, however, argued there could be a different reason for the jewellery. Some fans noted that Ruth was also the name of Brown’s grandmother, who died in 2020, suggesting the necklace might be a tribute rather than a reveal.
Even so, plenty of followers weren’t convinced the idea should be dismissed, pointing out that the two explanations could overlap.

Adding fuel to the theory, some people highlighted an older post from August 2025, shortly after Brown announced the adoption, where her phone case appeared to show the letters ‘R’, ‘W’ and ‘B’. Speculation around the meaning of the ‘R’ has continued, with some now linking it back to ‘Ruth’.
Brown has also explained why she intends to keep her child’s life private for now, speaking to British Vogue about the decision.
“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself.
“It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support.
“But right now, as she’s so little, it’s our job to protect her.”
