After reports emerged that Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo are ending their marriage, fans have been looking back at recent posts for possible hints that the split may not have come entirely out of nowhere.
According to court filings, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, filed for divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18, 2026. The complaint cites:
‘irreconcilable differences’
He also stated in the filing:
‘unable to live together successfully as husband and wife’
The documents also list May 9, 2026, as the couple’s date of separation. The news did not become widely public until mid-June, which is why many fans were surprised when the divorce report surfaced.
In several posts shared over recent weeks, Jelly Roll, 41, appeared without one particularly noticeable item.

His wedding ring was missing in those uploads, something fans may now read as a subtle clue about trouble in the relationship.
One TikTok post focused on his weight-loss journey and showed him preparing a protein shake, again with no ring visible.
Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa Andrea DeFord, had also been active online, and her recent content has drawn fresh attention since the separation news broke.
Some of her posts showed her traveling alone on a private jet, while others captured her on vacation with a friend, including outings for dancing and horseback riding. She also shared a video lip-syncing to Nickelback’s breakup anthem “How You Remind Me,” followed by an Instagram Story that read:
“She’s getting her sparkle back”
Viewed separately, none of those moments necessarily suggested a breakup. With the divorce now public, though, they stand out more clearly.

Neither of them has publicly addressed the split so far, although reports say the filing was reviewed by multiple outlets before the story broke.
This is not the first time their relationship has faced major challenges. In her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, released in February 2026, Bunnie wrote candidly about discovering that Jelly Roll had been unfaithful.
Despite that, the pair renewed their vows in 2023, returning to the same Las Vegas chapel where they first got married seven years earlier.
Bunnie has also spoken openly on her podcast about other personal parts of their life together, including their IVF journey.

The couple’s story began before Jelly Roll became a mainstream star. They first met at one of his shows at the Las Vegas Country Saloon, when he was still living in a van and playing to a very small crowd of roughly 20 people. They spoke backstage, though Bunnie was in another relationship at the time.
After later separating from her ex, Bunnie asked a friend to pass along Jelly Roll’s number. She has said that he would regularly call and text her for advice about his daughter, Bailee, from a previous relationship.
Their connection eventually became romantic when Jelly Roll went to Las Vegas to shoot a music video and Bunnie offered him a place to stay.
He later proposed to her onstage during a Yelawolf and Deftones concert in Las Vegas.
“[I wanna know] will your fine a** marry my white trash a** tonight in Las Vegas?”
That same night, they got married at The Little White Chapel.
Jelly Roll later welcomed a son, Noah Buddy, with an ex. In 2016, he and Bunnie were granted primary custody of Bailee because of her mother’s substance abuse issues.
At one stage, the marriage was rocked by infidelity and the pair split temporarily. Jelly Roll would later describe the affair as:
‘one of the worst moments of his adulthood’
Speaking on the Human School podcast, he also said:
‘did a lot of work to repair that relationship’
They eventually reconciled later that year.
As their personal life evolved, so did their careers. Bunnie launched the Dumb Blonde podcast, which grew into a major success and featured guests including Dolly Parton and MGK.
Jelly Roll’s own career surged as well, with ‘Son of a Sinner’ reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s US Country Airplay chart, and he won three Grammys earlier in 2026, including best contemporary country album for Beautifully Broken.
Bunnie also stepped away from OnlyFans and left the sex industry behind.
In 2023, the pair returned to The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas to renew their vows.
Later, Bunnie shared that they had decided to pursue IVF, writing on Instagram:
“W/all odds stacked against us, it’s always been hard & we have only just begun.”
She also made headlines after joking that following Jelly Roll’s major weight loss, his penis had gotten:
‘severely bigger’
Now, that chapter appears to have come to an end, with Jelly Roll filing for divorce in May 2026 and the news becoming public weeks later.
